If you can find some rhubarb leaves you could try boiling them up in the pan with some water and simmering for a while.

If you sign up for the e mail from Richer Sounds then you become a VIP member and get cheaper goods from the VI section - we bought a large t.v. a week ago and then claimed back £50 as they will price match within 14 days.
Have had a low carb breakfast and in a size smaller skirt ( waistband is noticeable though!)
DD(19) really likes the two duvet sets I bought her yesterday so it was worth plodding through the rain!
She still wants two small lilac rugs and they cannot be found in the shops so I have offered to dye two cream or white ones if we can get a good deal.
Might go back to Ikea one day if I can talk DH into it.
Happy birthday Annie book lover :bdaycake: :bdaycake: :bdaycake:
Mine is next Wednesday and DDs are not happy that I cannot think of anything that I want ( apart from selling our house and being slimmer, but they cannot wrap that!)
Going to have a cup of coffee and see if the washing machine has finished yet.
Hugs to everybody."This site is addictive!"

Thanks for the tip, elona :A I have had a successful price-match from RS in the past, on the TV in my living room (a 23" Samsung LCD). RS were charging something ridiculous for it, £500 I think... I found it for nearly £200 less elsewhere, RS price-matched it and because they calculate the price of a 5-year warranty at 10% of the purchase price, I got that knocked down as well!

Morning all :hello:
Hapy birthday Jayward and Bookie  (I used to have a shameful crush on Ricky Ross from Deacon Blue when I was a teenager.)
Almo... That's great news about the house. :T
Nelski... I'm not surprised to hear that you've been armed with a bottle of baby oil. I'm just a little stunned to hear that you used it on your ss appliances.
I had a lousy day here yesterday during which I prayed for time to move on until the girls go back to school.Feeling better today but only cos it's the first day of the new rules about their rooms and so far they're sticking to them.
Apart from cleaning small girls' rooms I managed to get a bit of gardening done yesterday but the rain is back today.
So the girls are (look away now wannabe sybil) plonked in front of the telly with a packet of hula hoops while I post on here.
I'm sure I'll do something constructive with them later. I'm going into the office tonight to catch up on OH's paperwork which I have really let slide so amd making chicken and sweetcorn soup and HM bread for them to help themselves.
Talking of mums.... It is 20 years (almost to the hour) that Pink and I lost our lovely, madcap Mum. So I'm feeling a bit reflective about how much she has missed and am sending squeezy hugs to Pink.
Take care all

Morning everyone! Wow, I actually got here before midday (but onlyjust!)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jayward and AnnieB, I hope you have a great day!
Hope you feel better frugalswan and Charlies_mum - it's no fun having flu.
Moliere - hope the wedding rehearsal goes well. I love weddings, though I appreciate it's more stressful being part of one!!!
SisterCas - Never apologise for having a vent.. that is the joy of a place like this - we can come and vent as much as we like and noone judges us! I know I am still new here, but even I can see what a supportive and friendly thread this is!
Haribo and Pink - Am thinking about you.
Ok, onto me... Well I tried home made bread again last night with a new bread tin my OH thoughtfully bought for me after the other nights debacle and it worked! My first perfect loaf of bread! Am ridiculously happy about it!
It isn't raining at the moment so if it holds off just another 2 hrs til my OH comes home from work I will be able to go out into the garden and FINALLY check up on all my plants. I lost two huge lilies in the downpours - they just filled up with water and fell off the stems
Ok darlings - cat is fussing so I better go feed her again... she only eats tiny amounts but about 50 times a day!!
I hope everyone has a great day whatever they are doing,

Massive hugs for today chic and to Pink too xxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Sybil - sending lots of (((hugs))) to you. When I feel really down, I put my favourite music on - as loud as circumstances allow - and dance round the kitchen. It sound daft but I find it really uplifting. I have grandchildren now and we do it just for fun. They love it and we end up in fits of giggles - usually them laughing at their daft Nan!
Bargain - that eye sounds painful; hope it clears up soon.
Good to hear from you, Thriftmonster.
Haribo - (((hugs))) to you. Sometimes the pain is as raw as if you lost them yesterday, isn't it? I lost my Dad nearly 40 years ago now and I often think about how much he missed and I wish so much that he could come back, if only for a day. Thinking of you and Pink today.
Candygirl - I'm so glad your Dad is pain-free, bless him.
Mrs Moneypenny - I'm looking forward to going to church this evening for the wedding rehearsal; I shall feel relaxed in there. My future DIL probably won't be that relaxed, though!
Well, I'm houseworking this morning (doesn't the housework interfere with life?! I really resent it at the moment) and I will finish the last 12 favours this afternoon while I sit and watch the TV with a cuppa (or gin as Pippa has suggested!).
Anyway, off again, see you all later.

Best wishes to Haribo and Pink. Anniversaries are so hard to bear.
I can tell that my husband is not feeling very well. I went to get some yoghurt for little bear and found a bag of Quavers in the fridge. That is not something that happens regularly here.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Haribo and Pink (((Special Hugs))) to you both
Have a good evening at the rehearsal mioliere ,not long now. I know what you mean about music and grandchildren, my DGD`s think its hillarious, Nan cavhorting around the kitchen, it`s mayhem when we all start, OH pops his head round the door "don`t you think its time you grew up" my answer....NEVER.....its too much fun:rotfl: :rotfl:
O... and I would stick to the GIN,
Money saving Diva Well done you:T on the bread, I have still to give it a go, I need to be all on my own, OH will drive me mad if he`s here for my first try.;)
Still a bit dull here but at least its dry, been out and chopped a few heads off, and swept the paths and patio so it looks tidier now. Going to T.C to book a holiday now, then lunch out, for the first time in ages,a real treat, got to watch it though I am trying to lose some weight.

Afternoon all
Happy Birthday to Jayward and Anniebooklover.
((((Hugs)))) to all who want/need one.
We went to the cinema last night, first time in ages. And no, we DIDN'T see "Mamma Mia", we saw Will Smith in "Hancock", which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was fairly MS, as it's cheap day on Tuesdays at MK Cineworld, and also I have a disabled person's card which means my carer (Mr LW) gets in free.:T
And we've been offered tickets for a show later in the year, as a "thankyou" for some voluntary paperwork I do for an organisation I belong to. :j
Nothing very exciting happening - Evil next door neighbour is making a racket (again). He's been converting the bungalow next door into a house for the last 18 months, and is nearly driving me to distraction with the noise and dirt. And if you ask him to try and hold it down a bit, all you get is a mouthful of abuse. Oh well, at least he'll be selling it when he's done, so we shan't have him next door forever.
Have a good day, everyone. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
