On what basis? Because you tlk to him or because you 'make beautiful music together' :rotfl:

( sadly, I don't have a MIL but my ex's Mum was a bit like that - I was never good enough for her precious little boy and anything I did was open to criticism/suspicion)
Because I go out on nights out with him without Ste and we're also going running together to keep fit.

Its a generation thing. There really are people out there who don't believe boys and girls can be friends without sex getting pulled into the equation. So long as Ste is happy shrug it off, she'll get over it.

so does Ste have a problem with D? Has he maybe been talking to his mum? Or is she making it up... stirring it?

sounds like you n Ste are pretty solid at the moment, anniversaries etc.
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

There's been a couple of times where I've asked Ste and he's said that occasionally he wonders but he also knows I wouldn't do anything and he trusts me. Ste and D get on really well and D and I are good mates... that's pretty much the long and short of it!

He's maybe made the mistake of discussing the vulnerable times with his mum, never a good idea.... generally we can change our minds shrug things off when we feel better, but the ones who love us are generally less forgiving....

That's why i never discuss major problems with people as i'll get over it most of the time, but my mum wouldn't ever forget!

    Does that make sense?

She's just looking out for him, but it's up to Ste to tell her he's alright with it and that should be the end of it.....

I did buy the dress and quite a few other things too :o which wasn't cheap at all. It isn't for a wedding it's for a party which is coming up. I also got a lovely floaty cream top to go with a pair of jeans for Amy McDs bbq.

I meant to ask at the time, was your OH playing drums at amy mcd's T in the Park.... i seen him on telly and wondered if it was him!?

Even if it wasn't i told Big g, that his wife is a friend of mine from the Frum.... he just raised his eyebrows in a non impressed fashion.....

i think he was too busy ogling amy mcd to be honest.... (edit: i mean my OH, not yours, just to clarify!!!)

Sorry, i appear to be hogging the thread today............ well seen i'm in the office alone!

Makes perfect sense. What doesn't help is that Ste's sister has also said she thinks it's weird and that 'Ste must trust me'.

If Ste's okay and the Mum/sister are bothring you or if it drags on you need to tell him and maybe ask him to get them to back off a bit.
