That money spending spree at Crave was in no way my fault though, right?

It was totally your fault, I even told hubby that it was nothing to do with me and that if he has an issue with the amount of money involved he should take it up with snags :rotfl::A

aargggh, just typed a reply and instead of opening a new window, it opened it on top of my post!
anyway.......start again......
Bunny - having had the pleasure to meet Turkey, I am really sad for you and the rest of the Bunny household. I hope Turnip isn't too lonely
OK - the holiday. Asked OH about it and he said 'well, might as well' (total input, but better than nothing) - I'd sold it to him on the 'chance to get free cigarettes' angle rather than the less likely to work 'why don't we have a few days away together' angle so I booked the flights - 6 nights.
The response to type of accommodation and where to go was 'underwhelming' I think is the best thing to say. I just got shrugs, 'dunno', 'whatever' and 'not fussed' to every suggestion I put forward. So unfortunately ladies (and any blokes who were thinking of chancing their arm!) for now you are all on the 'reserve' list as we are going together, but as it's 11 weeks away, who knows what might happen - there might well be a last minute place available!!!
I want to do SC as I like going to different places in the evening but it gets stressful because OH is such a pain at choosing where to drink and eat. We have walked around before for well over an hour before he chose anywhere! When we went to Amsterdam, 2 nights running he spent all night being indecisive and then it was too late and we ended up in a kebab shop. Ahem.
AI takes away that problem, but it is too restrictive for me and if he 'doesn't like the look' of the hotel bar, then we'd end up going out anyway. He hates being tied to times for meals though so maybe SC is the way to go.
I've found SC/HB/AI choices at Lloret/Tossa/Calella and Malgrat. I like the one with a jacuzzi in the room
but it's £100 each for the 6 nights HB. Still cheap but a bit over budget.
Unfortunately Maz, there is less than 1% of being ravished whilst away!
Have to say, Ryanair are money grabbing bar stewards
Flights: FREE (now not sure they understand the concept of this word)
Taxes: £37 each (double going out what they are coming back!)
1 bag each in hold: £14 each
check in at desk: £8 each
Charges to pay by card - get this - £8 EACH!!!!! The only way to avoid credit/debit charges was to use an Electron card which I don't have. Even Visa Delta from a current account or Solo incurs the charges!!
So, all in, the 'free' flights were £70 each:rolleyes:

it's the thing you do on holiday when your kid(s) are asleep in the next room with a grandparent! not so easy when kids in the room.... altho not impossible depending on your sensibilities!
trying not to lower the tone of the thread....
Edit: ravishing, makes me sound like Lucifa, bit of a posh bird....! (ALTHO' SHE INSISTS SHE'S NOT!)I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
ooh, you've been to Lloret Maz? What's it like? We went to Malgrat which is great for jumping on the train to Barcelona which is why it's on the shortlist again. It's not much as a resort, nice beach though.
Apparently the weather is kind of 19-22C in late October which is fine by me, we normally go March when it's like that as well.
