Actually, that's a bit of an untruth. 4 out of 6 are, the other 2 I was reliably informed by my dad have grown suckers. I had no idea what these were until he patiently explained the concept to me! Trimmed them away yesterday and had more than a few ouch moments on the thorns. B*stards better bloom now, perhaps the blood from my fingertips will assist. ;)

Just bought 1 litre of vimto, it had a 33% extra on it, there were only 3, on top of the usual 750ml or whatever it usually is, so I grabbed one, bargain.

Sorry if already posted. Picked up some paper drinking straws today - Pack of 30.

Each pack contains 2 designs - dark purple & white stripes and also red with white stars. Haven't tried them yet but they look great and seem quite sturdy.

Roses are grafted on to rootstock, the roots will throw out "Rogue" suckers which you dont want.

You need to count the number of leaves that exist on a single "leaf branch" that grows out of the main stem(s).

The cultivated stock generally (always/almost always) has only 5 leaves.

The WILD Rootstock will send out suckers from below soil level, or at least below the graft point, and these "wild rose" stems produce "leaf shoots" with 7 leaves.

    Happy counting
