There are loads of berry trees (well, not sure if they warrant being called trees). Gooseberry, blackberry, red currents.
Has anyone had success growing these?

Also very large green plastic plant pots and copper tape for stopping slugs.

i haven't grown any of the berry bushes from the 99p shop - but i have a patio apple tree, and several bushes/trees bought from the 99p shop, and they are all doing great, good growers and every one of them has flowered and blossomed after the 1st years planting.

I have a Philodelphus (mock orange), a weigela, and a potentilla which are in their 3rd and 4th years with me, looking healthy and the mock orange is over 6ft tall now. My patio apple tree is also about 6ft tall now (its in its 4th year).

I've bought more weigela, potentilla, a hibiscus, and an escallonia this year from the 99p store, they are planted and hopefully will be just as robust as my exisiting shrubs.

Really good value, and just the thing on a hot day, with lemonade, tonic water, a dash of Pimms (or in our case - Austins) and loads of ice.
