Oh thank you for posting that for me, I must have attempted it about 20 times and gave up in the end. I could have made another monkey in the time it took to NOT figure it out! Ive tried not to show my friends them as their all getting one at christmas and my OH's brother thinks im a complete loon with all the craft stuff I do. (I make cards, scrapbook, felt decs, tutu's and fancy dress outfits too!)

    Hi guys,

I've done one more sock monkey, it was actually my first attempt and I gave it to my boyfriend - he thought it was very sweet!

ok im going to make my first sock monkey tonite. im not a great sewer by nature so we shall see how he/she turns out lol. im going to make a small red velvet heart to put into his body to represent my love for the little people im hoping to give my sock monkeys to for xmas.xx

here they are. the pink one was my first, the stripey one second attempt. stripey is much better, i think they will get better the more you do. mine have real velvet hearts inside. to get the arms and tails on squarely i drew a circle (round a 10p peice) where they needed to go and then sewed to that instead of just sewing them on blind, just make sure your stitching covers the line

Hi Boogellyboo, Love your sock monkeys! Can I ask where you got your skull & crossbones socks from?

I've never made one but might have a bash for my granddaughter. She's an "Emo" so those socks would be perfect.

Hiya Moonpenny sorry to butt in but I bought the skull and crossbones socks this week from Primark - I think they were a £1.
I've lost the plot with my sock monkeys this week - i've started 2 and thrown them in fits of rage because of the snout.
I'm going to try again next week when I'm in a better frame of mind. LOL:rotfl:
