ok im going to make my first sock monkey tonite. im not a great sewer by nature so we shall see how he/she turns out lol. im going to make a small red velvet heart to put into his body to represent my love for the little people im hoping to give my sock monkeys to for xmas.xx

Thanks Mary, their nearly all for chritmas pressies and im donating a few to my Nanas care home to sell at their fair in a couple of weeks. I made the little sock monster at the far end last night too, their a bit quicker than the monkeys and you only need 1 and 1/2 socks each so can do mixed up colours in them.

boogellyboo they are really great! My favourites are the black and white (skull & crossbones one) and the monster on the end. Where did you get the design for the monster? I'd love to have a go at making one myself.

I just made him up really. I saw a tiny picture of one in a magazine and then winged it from there, i did the legs the same as a normal monkey then did the 'ears' the same, his mouth is the heel of the sock stitched together to look like lips and then little skinny arms. Ive put wire in his ears too so their bendable, i think he looks quite grumpy!
