Reading through the previous posts reminds me, Home Bargains currently has a range of sewing essentials for 29p, including 3-packs of coloured threads, needles, pins, etc.

Where is everyone buying their socks from please? Has Primark got a suitable selection?

Sorry for all the questions, I just love these and can't wait to get going!

Primark are good for socks. i tend to look for the ones that come mid way up the calf.. and not to buy any that are too thin. as they are no good when stuffed.
also ethel austin and asda have some good socks.

Thanks for that idea - I have loads of pillows and didn't like to throw them away - will just need to make things to use them up now :rotfl:
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p

OK, I blame you lot for the fact it's 11.45pm and I'm only just heading to bed. Yes, I've been up making my first sock monkey! I love it! This could get addictive! Will post a picture tomorrow,

Thanks for the tip about socks, will head to Primark tomorrow as it's close by, and while I'm at it I'll get some of those cheap Ikea cushions that I used one of for the stuffing, they are about 50p each I think. :)

Aww he's adorable! and yeah, 4 hours isn't bad for a first... You get quicker once you know how it actually goes...

he is adorable. sorry about the late night but it'll get easier by the time your on your 5th monkey... lol

I can make one from scratch now in under an hour and a half. what i do usually do tho is do all the sewing machine stuff in one go . Then its a case of stuffing and hand sewing when i have a minute.
