Rawr, I would love to see your tortoise cuddled up to a sock bet he looks ultra cute.
I have been waiting to catch him for a pic but its been to warm, but this evening he was using his hotty again.
Though, I cam back a few minutes later and his big brother had pushed him off.
Then, another 5 minutes later, they had both decided to share the hottie.
And, as promised ages ago, my sock Elephant.
This is going to be a easter present for my sister. I have filled the bottom of it with sand and so it can be used as a door stop.
And for those having problems getting photos up, the easiest way is to upload them to photobucket (and it means you always have access to them as well) Then just paste the IMG code over. Thats the one that starts with [img][/img]0 -
Your sister will love the elephant present.
Your tortoises are gorgeous are they kept inside most of the year (I know nothing about them!)
They are such interesting creatures. I love the colours and patterns on their shells.0 -
what a cool elephant.
i have just been asked by sister to make a sock dragon (like the one off shrek), a sock shrek and a sock donkey! That will be fun next week. also been asked for a sock pig. so major learning curve for me this week!!!0 -
I have some books with sock creatures in. Off hand, I know there is a dragon and a pig. I could possibly scan them and email them to you if its any help?
And thanks, yeah, the tortoises have to have UV and heat, so they live indoors through the winter, then kinda spring and Autum they spend most the time in the conservatory (its heated too) and the summer most the time in garden when possible. There still only babies, so take a bit of extra care. The small one still just about fits in the palm of my hand, but he is twice the size he was when we got him.0 -

Thank you, thats a very kind offer. I will let you know. At the moment i have a tutorial for a dragon which i think i can 'amend' to make more like the shrek one. and will have a look next week for a tutorial for the pig. i am sure i have seen one!!!
