I need to alter the face a little bit because it looks like an older child, but am working on that at the moment.

It is a pattern that I have worked out for myself as I will be selling the finished item, so am unable to share - sorry.

I understand.TBH they look a bit harder than my capability level.I wouldnt know how to make the dimples or nose.Good luck with them though hun and hope you do well.xx

If anyone wants to have a go at doing different facial features I found this.It is instructions on how to do the stitches to pull the sock into positions to make lips and noses etc.

way you think out of the box.

I love Sock Monkeys. I made a load of them for christmas presents.

owh I am too new a user to post pictures :(

The last one, I made with very fluffy socks. And although she came out looking cute, she was very very hard to sew. I have also made a sock Elephant, though, I have not taken a photo yet, as I have since decided to unstich part of it and weight the bottom down to make it into a door stop.

On the subject of filling with wheat, I am not sure, but I have filled a small one with dried rice, that seemed to hold well. He can then be warmed in the microwave.

  • Just posted a link on Grabbit to Fred Aldous where they are selling 50 pairs of 30mm safety eyes for £4.99.
They are really big so probably not great for normal sock monkeys but would be great for sock monsters.
