What books do most of you have? Ive just brought one: Stray Sock sewing: Making one of a kind creatures from socks..Some great ones in there but not all of them have tutorials x

I bought craft schmaft's owl mobile pattern to make these as gifts for friend's daughters. The owls are made from baby socks and so easy to make

I have just been into town & sat in the book shop reading this very book. There are some amazing sock animals but I agree there are not enough tutorials considering how many 'creatures' are pictured.

You have to be careful if you are wanting to make these items for sale, from books or patterns, because a lot of them say they can only be made for gifts and not for resale.

It does annoy me when you buy something and then can't use it as there are only so many gifts you can make.

You are allowed to make this pattern to sell but only if you state it is made from this pattern. This is the same for the Melly and me patterns I believe.

I don't know if you have express permission to make the owl mobile for sale, but her copyright notice on her website says that the patterns can't be used if you are going to sell the item, so it would seem that there is a contradiction in terms.

Oops sorry I must have got that wrong but I have definitely seen someone selling the mobile on Etsy stating its a craft schmaft pattern for about £70. Luckily I haven't sold mine they were made as gifts. I know you can with the melly and me patterns.
