Can I be cheeky and ask where you get all your lovely socks from? I can only seem to find nice pairs in Peacocks, and Tesco!

    Thanks xx

I have never used a sowing machine in my life and had to get a crash course from my mum using hers, but I've managed to make my first sock monkey! I can't sew very well but my 21 month old little girl seems happy enough with it! No eyes, because if she's going to use it I'd rather not put any on.

I know he isn't very good but I just had to try!:j I used an old sock to practise so sorry for the bad sock, haha!

Hi all, great thread and have enjoyed reading through it and looking at your monkeys. :T

I've made two so far and am quite addicted already. My oldest nephew (8) has asked for one so will have to make one for his brother and twin sisters as well.:D

Here are my first two together - the first is the black stripey (named Experimental Eddie by my OH) and the second is the grey stripey (named Mandy by OH again!:rotfl:). I've hand sewn them both and am quite pleased as I'm a very novice sewer! It's a good way to improve my skills though. :)

I think he is great, once he has eyes and a mouth he will be brilliant. All the proportions are great and it looks well put together. Well Done!

Naki I think he's great you should have seen my first sockie, but he's loved by dgs.

Babyfreckles; Every shop I go into I head straight to the sock part! Have you tried,
    Next/M&S/Asda/Matalan/Primark/New Look etc?
Sometimes there is a good assortment and other times zilch. So I stock up when I see
    summat I like. HTH
