Hi all.. I've just a quick question, well several questions really!

I've started making hats & scarves for my monkeys and some of you have put pom-poms on the hats which look really cute, do you make the pom-poms wrapping 2 bits of circular card with a hole in the middle? or is there an easier way being as they're little pom-poms? If you use the circles of card, roughly what diameter do you use?
    Thanks in advance!

I've discovered now that mine need their ears moving down else the hat just perches & looks daft!..something else to sidetrack me from the housework tomorrow!

for the mini monkey I punched out 1" circles then punched holes in the middle of them for the bigger monkey i used 2" circle punch

I make mine by hand, I don't have a sewing machine but they kind of scare me anyway!:rotfl: It took me one evening to make one so it shouldn't take too lond to do as well :)

Hi ladies I need your help big time. I am quite adventurous with making things but sometimes there is a brick wall in my brain. Today at church I was sat behind a young family, 5 + 1on the way. Their son who is only 11 started to go blind 2 years ago and they know this is a side effect of something that will take his life, probably during his teens. I am fond of him and during church I passed him my grandsons sock monkey to play with for a while, and asked him if he would like me to make him one. Yes please a David Beckenham one! ok thought I get the right football socks no problem. He then changed his mind, could I make him a Lion one!! I have seen an image but no instructions on how to create the face????? Any suggestions please as I want to get this done for him before next Sunday. This boy had behavior problems due to his health situation and I just think that doing this simple task would give him a happy thought even if it doesn't last long and he moves on to his next toy. Sorry so long winded!! but you know me why say 10 words when 100 will do as good a job :)

Thats such a lovely thing to do!! I would extend the bottom of the 'mouth' down a bit so it is more of a upsidedown triangle, then try to sew on a black nose and an upsidedown 'Y' for the mouth below it perhaps? Then make the ears a little smaller and use brown wool for a mane?

My sock monkey (I've called him Jeffery) is nearly done but as I'm doing it by hand its taking ages!!!!

Brilliant thanks! thats tomorrow evening sorted!

Happy1234 - I've been making mine by hand, its been taking me about 5-6 hours for each monkey & another couple of hours for the hats & scarves but I'm getting abit quicker with each one.. but then I keep going back & making changes to the first couple I made as I find a better/different way of doing it..!
