Yes. I'm financially linked to my husband, but his history is good to. He has a credit card etc.0

He needs to check his credit report, and go through it like you did because any discrepancies on his report will effect you.
When you are financially linked to someone they access the link as well as yourself.0 -
OK, we'll do that. Thanks.0

True understand if it was a credit card or loan but a blo0dy phone should be easy.
The only other thing i can think of is find out what what CRA the phone company checked, equifax or experian
The thing i cant understand is people can get mobile phone contracts with some dodgy credit history, but yours sound pretty good.0 -
I know! Vodafone actually told me they use Experian! I don't get it & it's worrying me now. Can they just randomly turn you down?0

Is renewing your mobile phone contract classed as opening a new credit account? I've been with orange now for about 5 or 6 years. And I'm well on the way to clearing all my debt. Update of signature is required but i now only owe £344 (2.81%). I've purposely not applied for absolutely anything to do with credit for ages now in a way to start rebuilding my credit rating. but will my contract renewal go down as a credit application?0

Yes, mobile phone companies do show as opening a new account. We were buying a house last year, and I got turned down, even though I had a credit score of 999. They told me that I had an outstanding debt with Orange for over £700!!!!!! I'd just moved to Orange, after 8 years with Vodafone. I was told that when mobile phone companies do a search on you, they make it look as though you're in debt to them for the full term of your contract! I was really shocked and upset at this, but it hindsight, I'm so pleased we didn't move.0

So a 24 month contract is gonna hit people hard then. Glad my contract is pretty cheap. Most iphone users will how as around £2000 debt.... very sneeky! Only £480 for me tho :A0 -
Yeah, guess so. Mine was only an 18 month contract. Very sneaky if you ask me. With me, it was a timing issue too. The reason left Vodafone was because they weren't offering the phone I wanted, so I just went somewhere that did!0
