Hello
I have recently been accepted for a debt relief order.
My parents address and my brothers address are listed on my credit reports as previous addresses. I have lived away from both of these addresses (ie. in my own flats / houses) for over 5 years now, and am on the electoral roll at my current address.
Is it likely that my family members could be rejected for credit because of my DRO? If they then get a copy of their credit report will my DRO (or me) show up on it? I understand that credit files are linked to perople not addresses, but there seems to be conflicting views about this (having just Googled this question and having read through this thread).
Has anyone had experience of this please?
Thank you.0 -

Your parents & brother have nothing to worry about.
Its the person not the address0 -
There are a lot of people in this forum have similar expereince with you, experian has put wrong information and people were turned down for credit. This CRA has done nothing good for society.
The problem here is that because you can not see your file without paying.
For those who understand, is it possible to sue this organisation for putting the wrong information and making damage to people ????
ADiNDASHi I hope someone here can give some advice:
Is this Experian being a bit rubbish or is this how my credit report will look when someone else checks it? Is it really confusion over whether my address is "flat" or "apartment", and if so what can I do about it?
Any advice welcome!0 -
Thanks for the reassurance star-fire. On a selfish note, would they be able to find out about my DRO (even if it won't affect their credit rating, is it possible for me to appear on their credit reports)?0

I have recently applied for a cash ISA and have subsequently been rejected by my bank. Whilst living in the UK (I am Australian) I have never defaulted on a loan/bill/credit card but know that I do not have a very strong credit score. I was trying to open the ISA to improve my credit score. Could this be the problem? I even went into a branch to be told that they werent able to give me a definitive reason as to why I could not open an ISA.
I have had a credit card application previously rejected due to my credit rating. What is frustrating is that I earn a really good income and certainly at home, the banks love throwing money at me. I dont have any debt in Australia and have significant savings .

Aren't ISAs only for people whose nationality is british? *ducks before being shot down*0 -
basically, we tried to apply for a mortgage and were rejected due to "bad credit rating". We have never been in debt, never defaulted etc etc. Never had problems applying for credit cards, mortgages in the past etc.
Looking up Equifax (the company which flagged up the "issue" we discovered that we were marked red for a £20 fee due on a Lloyds account - even though it was marked "settled"....
A few years ago we took up an offer from Lloyds for a high interest savings account - the catch being it had to have regular income from a lloyds current account. Fine, so we set up a current account too and paid £25 per month into the current account which then went straight into the savings account.
Basically, we wrote and withdrew the full amount and requested that the accounts be closed.
They only closed the savings account. They tried to take £25 from the current account but we had stopped paying money into that account (why would we continue paying into a closed account?!!!)
This basically went on for SEVEN MONTHS!! Each month we would get a statement showing that "insufficient funds" and being charged. Each month, OH would go in person to the bank and they would say "oh sorry, yes the account is closed, yes we'll sort it out, don't worry about the fee" They waived the fee - on numerous occasions (again, why would they waive the fee if we hadn't requested the account be closed?)
They now deny that we ever tried to close the account and that it was all our fault. We threw the paperwork away - because it was several years ago and we thought it had all been sorted out. Until our mortgage application was rejected.
Any advise on what we should do now?Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional :j0 -
No it is not. ISAs open to any persons who are UK resident for tax purposes.

It has come to my attention that Scottish Widows have done numerous credit checks for I what I am presuming is for my pension account and an internet savings account that I had applied for some months ago. I realise that this is necessary process; however on several occasions there are duplicate searches which are causing problems with my applying for and being successful for credit and savings accounts.
Since the earliest search (within the past twelve months) Scottish Widows have reference checked 13 times! I am amazed that this has taken place as I only have one current pension account.
When the searches were done, all but one had been duplicated on the day and on one occasion; the request was done five (5) times.
Now going to try to get them to remove the duplicate searches will prove interesting.0
