Not being funny... but you can do what the hell you like (to the person who said "i have a skin condition").

Can I just ask what exactly you mean by that comment? You may think that I'm making my skin problem up, but believe me when you spend upwards of an hour itching all over every time I use a cosmetic or put something in the bath, or find that because I've been scratching myself through the night I've actually drawn blood, I can assure you that it isn't funny in the slightest.

I currently have a bathroom cabinet full of full size products which I'm now going to have to give away to friends or sell on Ebay because I've reacted to them, so please tell me what exactly is so wrong in me emailing companies for samples to try before I buy? Isn't that after all the whole point of samples?

I merely came on here to ask people's advice on how best to do this. If some one replies to me or asks me a question on how I went about it, I'm not going to lie, I will tell the truth about what I did. Similarly, I've better things to do with my life than lie to cosmetic and toiletry companies for the sake of a sample which I'll get two uses tops out of.

    Rant over folks:mad:

oh cool. The other day i recieved £6 maybellene vouchers. I use thier mascara all the time and feel lost if i use a different one, so i just told them how much i enjoyed using it. I got an emaikl saying thanks, so didnt expect anything, but then about a week later i recieved a letter thanking me for taking the time to write to them. Really nice people.

And eth01 do you not have a heart? Elaine obviously suffers a lot and samples are there to get you to buy the product. Shes not doing any harm, especially as she has a genuine condition. I dont see what your problem is?!

    xx

  • Could some kind person write out a standard email template so we can use please.
  • I emailed a hotel after a horrible stay - it was a wedding party so didnt want to complain at the time as didnt want to cause a fuss with the other guests being there. They didnt get back to my email - so I emailed best western customer services who they are affiliated with, and they emailed me saying although they dont oversea the day to day running of the hotel, they do expect the guests to have a good experience - the manager of the hotel then replied (only after BW told them though) and offered me a complimentary stay - which TBH I wouldnt use in at this time - as the rooms were shoddy and breakfast gross, but the hotel is having a 1.2mil refurb soon so will wait till after then...
I also emailed Kingsmill telling them how disgusting their potatoe cakes are - I got £2 in coupons sent to me (I included the product code in the email)

People who have received skinny cow things - have you tried their ice cream sandwiches? I bought them - they looked lovely but were fowl - the biscuit/wafer was soggy - they need a product code for me to complain, but I the box out to make more room in the freezer
