Emailed a few places during the week, have received £3 vouchers for Pataks, £2 from SCJohnson to use on Duck, Mr Muscle, Oust, Glade or Pledge. Had sent a nice email saying thank you for Oust :D

Had emailed 1001 Carpet Care with a complaint after I bought their No Vac carpet freshner and it didn't spray. Woman emailed back saying she would send a cheque to refund what I paid for it.

  • After emailing a few companies this weekend, got some emails back this am -

Gillette - Thanks for the compliment, will pass on comments
Napolina - Thanks for the compliment, will pass on comments
Kettle Chips - Thanks for the compliment, will pass on comments
Thirst Pockets - Asked for address to send out vouchers, but when I clicked on reply, I got an email back saying it couldn't send to this person..... Not sure how else to send my address if it won't accept emails :(

  • My first EVER success :D-only yesterday I contacted Yorkshire Tea to say I would love to try their decaff tea.
Must admit before I've been polite and very British(!) and not asked and have received nowt! This time I just came out and asked for some samples-they have already replied and said they will happily send samples.

Have others found this is the best way-just to come out and ask? They can only say no
    What have other MSErs found?
Thanks to all posters for your never ending help and support

  • So far I have only said that I have bought their product and loved it, and gave a few reasons why I liked it. Maybe the 'asking for samples' route is the better route to take?

Might try it for the next few places I contact, Ive not had much luck with my first strategy lol x

The people at Yorkshire Tea are lovely ... well, they are from Yorkshire after all :D
I got a box of tea bags and cake from them when I made a small complaint.

I've found it's best to compliment and send query about a product, rather than ask for samples.

£2 off any Reckitt Benckiser product (airwick/dettol/finish) after complimenting them for their cilit bang which seems the only thing able to keep on top of my limescale!! (not mine personally but you know what I mean lol)

Well I didn't have any luck with this one - tried complimenting Dettol on their Mould and Mildew spray but just got a thanks...so well done ES. Maybe they have had a few too many emails this week :p

Didn't have any luck with Belvoir fruits either - just told me to look at their website

  • I got a five pound voucher for Clairol Hair dye - from an email complaining that they have changed the colour I use. They chnaged all the pictures on teh boxes as the one I use is no longer the same and my hair no longer goes the same colour.

They even rang me up and were lovely on the phone. Now just got to find a golden copper hair dye (work gets a bit miffed when its bright copper).

Working up to writing to a few other companies as not had anythign I either loathe or love recently. Ohhh just remember Tescos moisturiser.... must find out that one as it is lovely.
