  • Thanks for such a great thread! I'm in the middle of exams, and my procrastination methods have now progressed from checking Facebook, to sending email's and compliments to different company's :) It seems much more worthwhile too, when stuff arrives in the post!

I started yesterday, sending a mixture of compliments and complaints (I found this thread whilst trying to word my complaint), and I've already had a number of reply's :)

    Promised Goods:
Scholl (query about foot creams) - Wrote straight back, and are sending me foot cream
Heinz (compliment and a bit of asking) - Sending a birthday card for my 18th and a whole goodie bag of merch :D - Really quick response, and so nice about it all!
Tigi (query about hair products) - Sending me shampoo and conditioner :)
WKD (compliment)- sending me a bag of goodies!
Options (compliment and query) - sending me some sachets :)

Esquires (compliment) - I actually sent this a while ago, because I really love their drinks, and my local store staff are so nice, heard back from them just yesterday with what has to be the nicest email ever, and offering me a free drink next time I pop in - RESULT! considering they are normally about £3.50 for a medium drink :D

    Not successful:
Cafedirect (compliment)- out of samples, but thanks
Poundland (complaint) - take your receipt to your nearest store. BAH.
Molton Brown (ask for samples) - no longer do samples
e.l.f (query) - company do not make samples
Green&Blacks (query) - out of stock at the moment of samples
Bourjois (query and compliment) - against company policy to do samples :(
Innocent (query about veg pots not stocked near me) - just asked me to contact the supermarket and request they put them on their shelves. Gutted, because one in the post would have been fab ;)

    Not heard from:
Cadbury (complaint about missing twirls in my box of heroes)
Doritos (complaint about packet of crisps with no crisps just cheese powder)
    Herbal Essences/P&G (compliment)
La Senza (complaint about broken bra wiring)
    Boots (Compliment)
    MAC (Query)
    LUSH (compliment LOADS and query)

Will let you know how I get on, and whether the stuff actually arrives in the post! :)

hi could anyone offer any advice please?
went to ashford middx focus store, l lent over to look at the bathroom cabinet, and the shelving stuck in my coat and ripped it! gutted as i only got it about 4 months ago!
went to c/s and they said that all they could do was to give me the name of the administrators and to take it up with them!! i would need my reciept for the coat, which i know i havn't got! so basically, i won't get anywhere!
someone told me though that if they are still trading, then they should be insured still up untill they close! could anyone please shed some light on this!!
thanks in advance. i am going to bed now, but will look in the morning
i keep losing weight, but it just keeps on finding me!!!!!!:D

Well done, Ginazzy, your success really encouraged me to give this a try!

One question- do you writte to these companies or e-mail tem?

To date I had one success with Purina for £10 voulcher after a genuine complaint, but would love to try new things and this would be a great way to do so. TIA.
