    ...on a negative note.
I once rang Heinz because I had found a dead maggot (!) and a fly in a tin of macaroni cheese. I wasn't intending to complain I just wanted to let them know in case there was a problem and give them the batch code etc. I spoke to a very snotty woman who basicly told me I must be lying because there would not be two foreign objects in one tin!!!
Needless to say I make my own mac n'cheese now. Had I been a MSEr I would have caused a fuss but I was young and stupid!

I think that you should remind them of the cases of Smedleys v Breed in strict liability law and Donoghue v Stevenson (1932) in civil law. Your case sounds very similar and both those cases were won resulting in prosecution of the company and damages being paid to the claimant. I would not let this drop if you have any proof, you really could get a lot of of this.

It's up to you. I usually email but companies prefer if you post as it shows you have put more effort in.
    :)Welcome to the forums:beer:
  • Hi All,

The email to starbucks worked! I received a £15 gift card in the post and a very nice apology letter and responding email! A very nice result out of an unpleasant experience

I emailed genuine feedback about Ainsley Harriott soups and Carte D'or ice cream on Tuesday about how I didn't enjoy them. Received quite a swift email back from AH soups basically saying that they've won awards, had loads of positive comments and not planning to change their recipe. On the other hand, received a letter yesterday from Walls who said pretty much the same thing apart from the awards and was not as snooty but also came with a £4 voucher.
  • I got £360 cheque back from the council last month after hitting a pothole, sent total of 3 letters and it took about 3 months but it was worth it.

Just sent off a complaint to a local bus company (as the guy got lost and we had to pay for a bus back to the stop we actually wanted)

Also sent a complaint to a Hotel we stayed at in London. We were staing for a wedding and we got transfered to another hotel 15 min drive away (we had no car with us) and it meant staying in a different hotel than the wedding guests. They have said they will reply in 7 working days.

Also sent another letter to Mr T as they had not responded to my letter of complaint re their rubbish plastic bags (loads of shopping ended up on the floor in the car park!!)

Will have to see, what happens.

Just realised it sounds like I complain all the time, I dont really just a bad run I think!
Recently married and loving it x
  • i emailed mr kipling cakes about black plastic strands stuck to a pie they sent me out padded envelope to return cakes and then apology and £8 worth of vouchers all in the space of 7 days :)
nothing thats meant for you passes you by ..;)
  • Just recieved a lovely email back fom Boots for Complimenting them on their Natural collection range, asking for my postal address to send me a small gift for being nice!! :)

So complimenting can be as rewarding as complaining (thought i've never had to complain as i'm a wimp lol!)

  • I received an email from boots to say they were popping something in the post for me because I complimented their botancis range, which I use anyway. I am so excited!
I also emailed options asking for samples and they are sending me some too.

I emailed benefit saying their shop assistants where I live are fab but no joy there and I emailed nails inc saying their products are fab but no joy there either. Ah well. Good on Boots!
