Holiday Inn Express are consistently better than Travelodge and Premier Inn. The family rooms are a good size and the bathrooms always very clean with good showers and bathsheets.

Anyone know what the Premier Inn at Dover East docks is like? We're using it soon (only for 1 night prior to ferry crossing), but as we have kids we want it to be clean and reasonable.

It looks clean from the outside! It's a large building with a restaurant attached but I've never been in it. Looks busy most of the time though.

 They stopped doing the biscuits in the rooms a few weeks back, no doubt due to corporate penny pinching. They are usually alright for a night or two whilst out travelling but the restaurants attached leave a little to be desired with their microwave ping and deep fat fryer menus which become monotonous when having to suffer them on a weekly basis(work)

Travelodge also accept pets, not a good idea if you are allergic....Same as on arrival smelling smoke in your room, even though you have asked for non-smoking..

It all depends how much time you intend spending in your hotel room. I have always used TL and have been very happy with the room and service, the rooms are clean, theres a tv, kettle and a decent shower. For the price I think its well worth it.
