Travelodge or Premier Inn

The Premier Travel Inns are much cleaner and more comfortable than the Travel Lodge (they just aren't clean).
But I don't use either any more as they don't do smoking rooms.
I have a lot overnight stays due to work and I use the Holiday Inn Express now, very clean, large comfortable rooms.
Just don't bother buying dinner on site, they are tiny. Rubbish.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

I agree with this post.
As other members have said, Premier Inns are a lot nicer than Travelodges but if you can get a promo rate at a Travelodge, then take it and save your pennies for something else.0 -
I've just booked a room with Travelodge for 3 weeks time for only £19 plus 4% cashback from Cashback Kings. (I'm a little surprised Quidco don't promote them anymore! Well the way they're going at the moment we shouldn't be surprised really I guess).
Out of Travelodge and Premier Inn I prefer Travelodge as it's so much cheaper and the fact that there's no purple has got to be a really big plus point as well!

I say Holiday Inn express is the top choice in the bargain hotel range then Premier Inn then Travelodge. I know you didnt ask about Holiday inn express but the breakfast is free they too have a guarentee and in my mind a better bet alround although a shade more expensive,:hello: Lets all save a £ or two, lets all earn a £ or two, and lets all enjoy spending that £ or two wisely.

Actually we are thinking of going for Holiday Inn Express because that is where we usually stay on the continent. They have a good deal at the moment. Brand new hotel in Redditch, £49.50 per room including breakfast for the six of us, so £99 for the night is not bad, we will have to do a little more travelling but hey we are there to check out the area anyway... OH was offered the job this afternoon!! :j:j:j
Really happy!!0 -
we stay in Travelodges when we can get the cheapy rooms! for somewhere just to sleep and shower they are fine
havent stayed in a really grotty one .... yet ! lol but the one in / near windsor was pretty bad lmao
then stayed in a lovely premier travel inn nearby the day after, much much nicer than the TL ! but more expensive of course
staying at a holiday express inn on thurs, near the channel tunnel,£44 for a family room ! which was cheaper than the closest travelodge!0 -

And that includes breakfast, at TL ot PI you have to pay extra for that. Breakfast at HI are buffet style and usually very nice. We are usually very checky and have a very late brunch-breakfast eat loads and then don't need to eat again until supper!0 -
We had a very hot room when there was a problem with the heating.
We tried opening the window but it was a very noisy motorway nearby.
We asked for a different room but they were full.
We got a fan from a VERY grumpy man (who was probably sick to death of multiple complaints).
After having given them the opportunity to put things right I think we were due a refund.
This is interesting - we stayed in a Premier Inn in Brighton last year and the heating broke down.
After a few failed attempts to fix it we were offered a full refund for that night's stay on the spot - we didn't ask for it - we were simply offered it.
We accepted and to give Premier Inn all due credit, the heater was fixed the next day.
To answer the OP, overal Premier Inn are probably better and their breakfast is DEFINITELY better than Travelodge, but being able to get central London rooms for £29 means Travelodge will usually get my money - its the bottom line that counts for me!0 -

I have stayed at a couple of Holiday Inn Express properties and have been put off by how tiny the rooms were - they were actually the smallest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. Maybe I have just been unlucky but the size of those rooms put me off ever booking them again.
The breakfast was good though!0 -
Anyone know what the Premier Inn at Dover East docks is like? We're using it soon (only for 1 night prior to ferry crossing), but as we have kids we want it to be clean and reasonable.0
