Hi everyone. I've been lurking on this board for a while & thought it was about time I said helloI'm a 24 year old student from Essex.
I adore gardening, cooking & crafting. This has been the best year of gardening for me, as due to health problems I wasn't able to do much but this year has been fabWe had a pie today with my homegrown carrots & spinach. That feeling of eating freshly dug veggies is the best!
Looking forward to learning more from you all :beer:0 -

Im Annie56 thought Id just introduce myself after delurking and registering to post on MSE.
Im newly seperated and on my own for the first time in years and am excited at the prospect, totally skint and now having to look for a job.
All my well established "friends" think I have had a midlife crisis and completely lost my mind, maybe I have but its my mind so Im just gonna have to go out there and find the poor thing !!!
I am now in the position of bieng in the position of needing every single money/shopping/food tip that has been written about on this board.
Fingers crossed I may have been allocated an allotment and then I can now begin to live my dream of some self sufficency and peace of mind.
Im sitting in my new one bedroomed flat surrounded by cardboard boxes and all my life is packed in these boxes, ah well I made the decision so now begins the rest of my life so hello fellow MSE`rs and Old Style folkies, will begin to get to know you all soon

I have been popping in and out of OS for ages, but only today noticed this thread!
I am 32, and an acquired brain injury outreach worker, so I work in the community with individuals who have had a brain injury, and their families. I do one to one work, facilitate support groups, counselling, training and a whole load of other stuff too, and I love it!
At the mo there is just me and my dog, as my H2B is working away for a yearWe speak 3 or 4 times a day, and see each other every couple of months. Its hard, but we will be together again in Jan, he will get a big pay rise, and we get married next year too!:T:j
I am OS in some ways - I enjoy cooking and baking (when the mood takes me!), and getting into foraging (just brambles at the mo, but am keeping my eyes open for other things!), use the OS way for cleaning, get kicks out of getting yellow stickers, avoid purchasing anything without a coupon/voucher/discount code/cashback, grew rocket and baby spinach for the first time this year (no garden, but have a pot!) and attempt to meal plan!
I find all the OS stuff really inspirational, and am really impressed with what everyone does, and the advice and support people give. I am trying to be as OS as poss.......slowly but surely! :A0 -
Hi
I'm gtx, I've been on MSE for a while now but keep having time away - not sure why because I love it - but I post for a few months then lurk for a few months:(
I'm married with 2 teens, aged 36 and work full-time for a bank - which hasn't stopped us getting into loads of debt:eek:
Thanks to the site our debts are manageable and decreasing - hopefully in 3yrs all we'll have is the mortgage.:T
I love OS because I love cooking and hate cleaning - both of which I get loads of help with on here:o.

Hello!
I'm Nick. My grocery budget is my main focus as well...as is paying off my credit debt which HOPEFULLY should be gone by October! Extremely thankful for the support this board has given me! Many of my friends either don't understand because they have never had debt, don't want to know because they think that being frugal is boring, or just don't want to know full stop! It's a bit of a lonely life, and since I decided to take this frugal option for my own benefit I've lost a lot of 'friends'.
Luckily those closest to me understand why I reject yet another night out, so in essence it's like that old saying 'quality rather than quantity'.
In actual fact I'm quite enjoying the frugal life despite all this. There is something satisfying about know you're saving money, the environment and your health (through eating less processed carp), by following this approach to life.
Oh - and I live in London in a flatshare, but originally from Lincolnshire. I love London, but there are so many things to tempt you to spend money on!
I feel I've found another home:)
