I am curious abut it to!0

Hello everyone,
I am a student, aged 21 and will (hopefully) be a fully qualified teacher in 7 months time!
I enjoy cooking/baking for myself and for guests and love a bargain! One of my favourite things to do is make cards and presents (my biggest distraction from university work to date) and I love hearing other peoples money saving tips!
I miss home very much and reading/posting on the MSE forums is one way that I can distract myself from thinking about it!0 -
I'm sorry you're homesick Student12, whereabouts are you at Uni, maybe one of us could 'adopt' you!0

Hello Diflower,
Thanks for the response- I am at Uni in Brighton. It is a lovely place to live but 'there's no place like home!'. I am now in my final year (of a four year course) so the end is getting closer!0 -
Oh I love Brighton - I used to escape there a good few years ago, when things were bad. A bit too far away from here I'm afraid, but still, cyber friends are good too.0

Hi, work part-time now after many years of ill health so it is a treat to get real money! Not enough though so has driven me to find alternatives to doing everything. Luckily I love home stuff so it has all been a pleasure so far. I love doing the garden and cooking. Have an old dog who is now going senile, sounds funny but actually upsetting to watch! My partner and I moved in together few months ago and he has a young son who is with us 2 days a week.As at: [STRIKE]9/6/10[/STRIKE] 15/9/10
Family Loan:[STRIKE]£8,041.35[/STRIKE]£7725 Bank Loan:[STRIKE]£11,107.42[/STRIKE]£10769 Previous Life Loan:[STRIKE]£18,391.91[/STRIKE]£17899

Hi everyone,
I'm a LONG time lurker from Canada, who finally decided it would be nice to add a post here or there.I work part-time in a kitchen shop, and also have published 2 books with a publisher in the US. (One book on easy housecleaning tips & one on frugal living.) I'm looking to get re-inspired to write more again...for a while I've been completely UNinspired, and that's death to a writer. I find all of you to be absolutely amazing, and I'm hoping that coming here will not only help me to continue to pay off student loans, but also to find that inspiration I'm looking for. Thanks already!
Christina
P.S. While I live in Canada, I was in England last year for the first time ever - just LOVED it.Also loved that your food prices are a lot more reasonable than here!

I've been away a while and circumstances have changed so can I introduce myself all over again?
Over 12 months ago I'd been made redundant but was hoping that I'd end up with the job of my dreams ... and happily it worked out that way after just three months with me finding work with an international development charity. The cases I hear about through my work put things into perspective because I see how far the pound from our pockets can go and the difference that a well-spent tenner can make. Ironically it's also got me spending more on some groceries ... it has to be Fairtrade coffee now so none of the cheap dust stuff that I had got used to!
Chez Scotrae, things are financially tight. A big commute and working long hours means that we've got into lazy shopping habits and we've been wasting too much food. And <shock horror!> I've been buying lunch at work far too often! Meanwhile, my boys are into double figures, playing rugby and eating for England! I've even had to buy them some new clothes this year as the Freecycle and carboot supplies have dried up.
But we're still into Twinks' hobnobs (as are my colleagues) and making occasional batches of freezer meals with mince and tons of cheap, chopped veg.
I'm trying to get ready for Christmas - started the shop today with a credit card I haven't used for ages but was actually owing me!
Probably more than you needed to know there - Hello again everyone!0 -
I am a single parent living in the north of england. I work part time, home educate my 15yr old son and have an allotment. I also have a crazy house rabbit0
