Just spotted this thread. What a lovely idea. I always try to imagine what people are like from their posts, and will have to (when I get time!) look through the posts from regulars on here, to see if I was right!
Anyway, about me. I am 43, have 2 girls, 3 and 11, and have a husband who works very hard so I can be a SAHM. I worked as a nurse before my wee one came along. How I wish I had got my act together when I was working and saved some money properly when I was single!
I'm originally from Belfast, but have been living in the south East of England now for 15+yrs, with a brief sojourn on the west coast of Bonny Scotland a number of years ago. I'm a Muslim convert too, it's a big part of my life.
I have an allotment, grow some veg in the garden too, and spend much too much time on MSE! Yes I learn lots, and have saved a load of money, but literally could stay on here for hours and tell all my friends frequently about it. I enjoy baking and reading.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

I'm 33, married to a gorgeous man for 2 years, 18 weeks pregnant with first child. Always worked full time, my preferred job description is 'Professional Drifter' since I have a rather eclectic CV! I've work in HR, as a PA, police constable, currently a project co-ordinator. I get bored easily!
Was made redundant in April, now working as a contractor with a great company. Got the wake up call I needed though and hubby and I are on an investing course to forge our future the way we want it. Driven by the want to be a SAHM.
Halfway through a full refurb on our home. Not stressing about it....yet!
Wannabe keeper of chickens, put on hold at the moment due to baby. 2 good sized veggie patches. Cook from scratch, bake own bread.

Another newbie here.
I'm originally from the Far East and currently living in the North East of England, currently 35 weeks pregnant and already have a 2.5 year old little one.
We are planning to move to the Greater London area next year for my career development as the opportunities (in my profession) are rather limited here in the North East.
I am so happy to find so many likeminded people here!0 -

Hello all - lovely to see some new faces and to hear about you. It's such a good community on here, with plenty of people around to give advice and to pick up tips from you all as well!
Frugalastic - I had a wonderful holiday in Calgary a few years ago when my sister and her family lived there. Beautiful place.
Looking forward to everyone's posts. The Daily thread is very friendly, as are all the threads on here! Anyone tried the Grocery Challenge for November?

Hello, I'm new to the forums (gosh theres so much to look at!), so I thought I'd introduce myself here
I'm Tam, I live with my partner, and I've just gone self-employed after getting fed up with being unemployed and being unable to get work where I used to live, plus I've always wanted to work for myself. I've also just moved up north from the midlands so I'm glad I get to be at home to sort everything out.
I love cooking, making things, and getting a bargain, and I've been having to be careful with money for quite a while now....I have to admit I've got to a point where I actually enjoy it
So, thats me basically, nice to meet you all. I'm going to curl up with a cuppa and see how much of the forum I can read hehe. x0 -
