I'm waiting to finish my degree, been delayed due to depression and mum dying, passed everything except one which I'm waiting to be marked, but it's gone to be 2nd marked and as it's a 2nd submission is capped at 40% unfortunately that usually means it's below 40% when it's 2nd marked and to cap it all, no-one at the uni will tell me anything:mad:, so it looks like I'm gonna have to re-do the module :(, taking time and money I don't have.
so I've now decided to try and get the rest of my life under control and that means starting with finances :)
slowly getting addicted to mse :D

Hello and welcome from another comparative newbie, loonylamb.

Sorry to hear about the depression and your bereavement - I have Bipolar so I know the impact a mental health problem has on a person. What subject is your degree? I'm just starting to do English Lit with the OU.

    Hi everyone

I've been on MSE before - a few years ago - but had another username and have had to change it due to personal issues (less said about that the better!)

But I'm back as of today and wanting to take stock of everything and get my life organised and back on track :D

I'm married and a SAHM to 3 children (ages 10 - 16). Live on the South Coast (which is great in the hols, free beach visits etc !) Have a small veggie plot in the back garden and try to grow as much food as we can, when the weather allows :p.

Debt-wise we've just had to take out a loan for another car to the tune of 4K and have a c/c debt of 1K so I'll be working hard to get rid of those a.s.a.p !

I'm also trying to lose 2 stone in weight so i've got a lot to keep me busy over the next few months .

    Hi all!

I'm Sarah and i will turn 30 in a few short weeks. I'm mum to one gorgeous 19 month old girl with another surprise on the way in October. I've been around the MSE boards before, but it was earlier on in the year when we were looking at possibly moving house or extending. Well, we extended and now a bigger mortgage and the impending fourth mouth to feed have us looking at our shopping bills and tutting.

I've chimed in on the August Grocery Challenge thread and have been mooching around reading other threads here with avid interest. Looking forward to getting to know everyone a little better. :)
    Sarah. :p

  • Hi uropachild - it's nice to meet you also. The grocery budget is my main focus at the moment too so I'll probably see you on the GC thread ...

    Any tips welcomed!!

  • Hi, I'm Louisa. I used to frequent these boards a couple of years ago, then sort of disappeared, but i'm back as of yesterday :)
I'm 26. I live at home with my mum, but hope to be able to get my own place in the next 18 months or so.
I work full time, but still struggle massivley for money.
I have a car which i have almost finished the finance payments for! (6 more payments to go!! Unfortunately a car is essential for me and finance was my only option at the time :() and I have C/C debt of just over £1000 which I am trying very hard to get rid of.
I am also paying back a loan which I hope to start overpaying on once my car is fully paid for.
I hope to become more OS once I get my own place, but for now i'm trying with the little things, such as batch cooking for work lunches.
the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j
