I know - little things make me happy - but just subscribed to something AND found out how to look at subscribed threads LOL Will be paying more attention to all of the menu bars AND reading what is written on them LOL Thanks everyone. DH is the Computer nerd around here and he has just given up on my ever doing anything by myself without asking someone (quite a few times).

  • Hi everyone,
Im also new to this board, usually found in the greenfingered moneysaving forum.
I'm 25 (26 tomorrow) SAHM, im really trying to become more frugal. Im lucky as ive got no debt but id love to be able to take my two boys abroad on holiday so must be more cautious with my spends.
DS1 was 4 in July and starts full time school on 2nd September, he will look so cute in his uniform :D DS2 was 2 in March and he is the more boisterous of the two, i definately have my hands full :rotfl:
I have turned about 1/4 of my garden into a veg patch so all of my winter veg (hopefully) will be from the garden and if we have a winter like last year then we will still be able to eat like kings :D

  • Morning all,
I used to be an avid lurker of the boards but things got in the way, blah, blah.

But I am BACK on my journey to debt free!
    All budgeting/SOA done.
biggest outlay is my grocery bill -- total lazyness!!! Not planning etc!

So I am back on board (with vengance)

    Little bit about me;

I'm 3 yrs away from "life beginning" lol Mum to 1 DS. My world.
recently split from OH and have moved right away.

Self employed, just starting out really, everything feels shiny new (apart from the debt -- the only bad thing left in my life)

So, I'm back to the Old Style boards --- I have missed them so!
I will no longer lurk! :)

  • Hello all,

two full-time postgrads over here, too much time with heads buried in books, too little time spent with real people :o It's a wonder we found each other!
One with small amount of student debt, other fancy-free, both looking forward to impending wedding, which is to be as money-saving as possible.
Trying to be O/S and thrifty in our money-saving in order to change our lifestyle - eating veg when it's in season etc. and spending time together in the kitchen making jams, chutnies, freezer bits and so on. Not only saving us money but doing loads for our relationship as well. Bonus!

Welcome back! We're in similar positions - I've tried the MSE boards before but didn't take the time to find out how they work so 'didn't like' them so have been in and out of them several times. I think I've got the hang of it now though so will be starting back on OS properly when I get paid (the 15th). Meantime, I'm just trying not to spend so as not to make my situation any worse. Unfortunately, Sammy-cat has to see the vet this afternoon soooo ...

Hi chefandyam and partner - welcome. You're lucky getting in on the ground floor - just starting out in life, not too much debt yet and you're already learning good habits! Well done :)

  • Hey all :)

I've been lurking on here for a while but I thought its about time I joined. I am a full time student studying A levels at college. I am new to OS money saving but I am eager to start changing and moving towards an OS lifestyle. I do alot of shopping in Charity shops and I do buy reduced food in supermarkets but I feel as if I could do more so I will.

Welcome, welcome, Pixieswishes! I'm another student but it's OU for me at the moment. OS is a lot of fun and a great method of money-saving. Hope you enjoy the forum.
