hmmm, ok I used 'The Cloak' disguised my IP and got into the site! However, it wont let you register the star even though the website gives the option of selecting from several languages.
Im going to try a different cloaking site, if that fails Ill send 'Russ' who make the bears an email.
Edited to add:
Still cannot access, for anyone else having similar problems there is a UK email address of uksales@russberrie.com
Fingers crossed for a reply!0 -
I bought one of those silver laptop sleeves for £4.99 a couple of weeks ago and the zips have broken on both sides but I can't find receipt. Do you think they will exchange for something else without receipt. Don't want another one as I've since found out that a friend bought one and she had same problem with zips. Thanks
I have taken things back to exchange without a receipt no problem! However, I am not sure if this is store specific and cannot say if it is just down to the managers discretion but just to say I think you should give it a try esp. if it is a broken product.
Good luck!0 -
Update! A superfast email from Russ:my apologies on the frustration you and your daughter have been
experiencing. We are currently investigating service issues on the
website, and will hope to have them resolved shortly. We have not
restricted the access due to geographical area, but have experienced some
hardware issues recently with the server hosting this site, which is being
worked-on at present.
Please accept my apologies in the meantime.
Ill keep you updated.0 -

Still it beats the usual 'alternative/wacky bollox cure" reply which is....."It might do some good, so what's the harm in it?"
Er,I don't care about snore rings or whatever, so can you stop your rubbish comments, they're hogging the thread!
Er and if I did need them I'd still probably try them miss/mr knowitall!!0 -

Same as 'aloe vera' doesn't work.
Same as all other 'bio-goobledygook' scams don't work.

"Q - What do you call an alternative medicine that actually works? A - Medicine!!!"
Sorry to bring this up again, I'm sure you were all over it. But Aloe Vera does work, it has been medically trialled, double blind, lab conditions across the world for many years. Make sure the product you are buying has aloe as the main ingredient though, not well down the list. Better yet, buy an aloe plant, it's probably cheaper. They're really easy to grow and make nice houseplants (or outdoors in the summer).
Using plants to heal is not 'alternative medicine' it IS medicine. The medicines that you buy at a premium from the drug companies are, more often than not, containing chemicals that have been synthesised in a lab, reconstructing the exact molecules found in nature. I was lucky enough to visit the Amazon rainforest last year and sample the sap of the cinchona tree - where Quinine comes from. This is used to cure malaria. It is now chemically synthesised simply because that is easier and cheaper than growing the requisite amount of trees to supply demand.
I'm not advocating all so called 'alternative therapies' but when it comes to 'medicine' that you ingest, I know that I'd rather take something direct from the plant, only getting the chemical compound I need to make me better, rather than taking a synthesised pill, containing EXACTLY the same compound but also who knows what else to bulk it into a familiar tablet shape...
I'm trying not to be preachy here, but just to point out the fundamental flaw of modern society's reliance on processed products and fear of natural things. They are finding new cures for our ailments every day, out in the jungle.
Hope that helps someone, sorry to go off topic but I really wanted to make my point.0 -

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.
Please point us in the direction of these DBRCT's that you say aloe vera has passed.
Can I suggest you read "Trick or Treatment" by Simon Singh and Edzard Ernst [a rspected journalist and Professor Of Complementary Medicine respectively]
Extract
When actually studied under properly controlled conditions, there is very little, and poor evidence that aloe vera does anything. It may be soothing for things like burns, but there is no evidence they heal any faster, for example ( Externally it is touted as useful for burns, herpes, psoriasis and wound healing.)
There is no evidence of any benefit from drinking aloe vera juice. Taken internally it can cause diarrhea, damage to the kidneys or electrolyte depletion. It can also interfere with diabetes and heart medications.

Back to Home and Bargain......
I was thrilled to pick up a 7 pack of Crunchies today for £1.19 - my little boy is obsessed with these lately and they are 45p each in the corner shop, so this works out at less than half the price!!0 -
