    A quote for you:

Even amongst the best "scientific" minds no one knows how an aspirin works. They know how aspirin effects the body and what symptoms it will help alleviate, but no one knows the mechanisms by which it functions.
The same is true with acupressure.

Placebo and mind over matter can work on the best of us. Please dont be so dismissive.

Aspirin and acupressure are a completely invalid comparison.

Placebo is truly an amazing effect, so much so that for medicines to be considered effective they have to be better than placebo [not just better than nothing]. Placebo however is best for certain types of conditions, and snoring is not one of them!!!!!!!!

Acupressure/acupuncture has been scientifically assessed and has come up short, time after time after time [just like homeopathy, chiropractics, vitamins tablets, head-rubbing, reflexology, aromatherapy, etc, etc].

So, in summary [and without being dismissive, but rather being scientific] they don't work, even at a placebo level.

In Retford today they had Shortbread (v strong vanilla), Herb, Apple, and Aqua (or a similar name). Didn't think any of them smelt fab (but through packaging). All smelt very synthetic, I thought.

Er, why then did your first post wrt this [4 above this one] not say this, as opposed to arguing the point??

Still it beats the usual 'alternative/wacky bollox cure" reply which is....."It might do some good, so what's the harm in it?"

You are a rude little madam aren't you? If you have a problem take it to PM, dont derail the thread.

I was merely pointing out that it was YOUR opinion on whether these things worked or not and it was up to the individual to decide whether it was "wacky bollox" and none of your damned business really.

Anthon Berg liquors 580g box for £2.99, a good little Fathers Day present if you can resist eating all 35 of them yourself. :)

I haven't opened mine as they will be an extra Fathers Day gift but it looks like flavours are Jack Daniels, Cointreau, Beefeater Gin, Grand Marnier and Cutty Sark Whisky.

    Edit.

They had three scents - herb garden, waterfall and shortbread. The fresh linen were all sold, that is my favourite candle scent.
The smell isn`t too strong and quite pleasant. I wish I`d bought more as they are such a bargain!
