I am all for DTD if there is a genuine mistake. Some people on here seem to be actively trying to exploit this. Suppose I have just never been a fan of cheap and sneaky people. Dont like Tesco much btw, but dislike sneaky moneygrabbing tightwads more :rotfl:
Good job you werent around here when Tesco had the R&R policy then!
Tesco have the policy, why is is it "sneaky" to ask for something they advertise on a big sign behind the CS desk and on every checkout?Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

So it's OK for Mr T to rob all those shoppers by charging more than on the SEF then is it? If I take 10p worth of goods without paying Mr T he'll have me prosecuted for theft (shoplifting). However, if he takes 10p too much off me for his goods that's OK is it? I personally do not see too much difference.
Basically Mr T is using the DTD customers to provide a service his employees should be performing. To manage and monitor his SEF and actual sealling price for accuracy. Therefore DTD is effectively wages for performing what a competent reatiler would be paying employees to perform. And, in any case, Mr T is offering DTD; it is not something that is a legal entitlement. I would suggest that Mr T make significantly more from overcharges that customers either miss or cannot be bothered to queue to reclaim than what he gives back out in DTD. Mr T does not make £billion+ profit through pure business accumen, believe me.
Just think that if you shop elsewhere the retailer you use is probably raking in even more on overcharges than Mr T and all you are doing is lining their pockets at your expense. Who is the fool?0 -
Bags of apples - any Cox, Braeburn or Ariane packs, BOGOF.
Didn't work for Organic Braeburns last night - DTD sans problème.
Also, 3 for 2 on any Finest or Organic produce(F&V), cheapest free. Worked for the oranges, which were already reduced, but not for the bags of ditto limes.
Very nice DTD and lime marmalade simmering(after 3 hours of zesting and chopping prep)as we speak.
None in Worcester offer says bogof selected apples only two sorts had the offer coxs and gala
Scouted for the usuals down the fresh meet isle but nothing todayPlease don't critasize my spelling0 -
Haven't checked in other branches, bs - this was in East Anglia, with 3 Branches within 7-8 miles.
Marmalade done - v.g. with that darkish, lime kick, not sweety-sweet.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Another way of looking at it is this:
Tesco introduced R&R to demonstrate to its customers how great its Price Integirty was.
Tesco's Price Integrity was pants.
It was only a matter of time through powerful consumer forums such as MSE highlighting R&R that would lead Tesco to a choice - get a grip or ditch R&R.
DTD was born, sigh, to demonstrate to Tesco's customers how great its Price Integrity is.
Tesco's Price Integirty is pants.
You are much more likely to be overcharged in Tesco than in any of the other big supermarkets.
The fact is that Tesco cannot implement effective Price Integrity - those who claim DTD - either through chance or on a pre-mediatated basis - are doing Tesco a favour and reminding them that despite the Price Promise they consitently fail to deliver consumer confidence.
Rant over.

Needed more sugar for jam after The Archers tonight; saw 25p pricetag/Reduced to Clear for Mr T's Organic Ovenready frozen chips, formerly £1.99.
Not a thing I'd buy ordinarily, but 25p?.........2 bags taken[birds will eat them if peeps don't].
DTD=£3.48 per bag - worthwhile.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

How do you spot the meat misprices?
Is it just spotting mismatch between SEL price/kg Vs printed packaging price/kg?
How do you know which price the item will scan at? is it always the price on the packaging?
p.s. pls forgive the one-off off-topic post :rolleyes:0 -

Yes.
It will usually scan at the price on the packaging for all random weight products - such as beef joints, lamb, steak, chops etc that are different weights.
Some meat products that are all the same weight and therefore a set price per pack rather than priced by weight are more tricky and price would need to be checked.0
