    Hey

Quick question. If you hypothetically peeled a hypothetical "£7" sticker which was placed on a product, say an Xbox 360 game, to pick a random product.

When the item scanned (hypothetically) at £39.99, would you still be able to claim the DTD?

Of course this is all hypothetically and purely for informational reasons only....

Crikey, no wonder some CS are getting suspiscious and trying to get out of honouring DTDs!
This harks back to the old days before we had scanning and price labels were the only means of pricing. Seem to remember successful prosecutions for label switching on the basis they amounted to theft. This action would constitute fraud as it would be an attempt to obtain money not entitled to by deception.

Edit: just to add, am in no way suggesting that you intend to attempt this hypothetical deception...

I think they would hypothetically say to you that they will review the hypothetical CCTV system and hypothetically see you hypothetically swapping the hypothetical labels and throw you into a not-so-hypothetical jail.

I think even the not-so-bright CS staff would know that the item would never sell that low. Also these stickers are designed to be perfectly flat when stuck on something for the first time, but show tell-tale folds or creases when removed and stuck down again.

this would definitely be fraud and prosecution could easily follow. Stay WITHIN THE LAW and you are protected. Big DTD opportunities come along all the time. Have patience and you shall be rewarded.

When I was working in the Big T, I had an instance of someone stealing a dummy DVD case for a cheap phone, cutting out the bar code, then picking up an expensive phone and sliding the cheap bar code in front of the other (under the plastic) so the expensive phone was charged at the cheap price. However I spotted the reciept said Nokia 123 and the case was Nokia 789. The person was held by security and the police were called.

Fraud is not tollerated by tesco but misprices - that is fair game.....

    Just my hypothetical opinion.;)

you are giving staff to much credit, not so bright is a compliment,a lot of DVD's last year were stickered at around £5 but actually scanned through at £19.99,one example being "one flew over the cuckoo's nest",when going through the tills the staff never batted an eyelid, but customer services did when you claimed DTD :rotfl:

On a serious note I think you have misunderstood this forum. It is about money saving within the rules without the need to turn to theft thinnly disguised as cunning
