This is offtopic really but what happens if you find an out of date product on the shelves?
Is it possible to take advantage of it, because I often see them.
(In a way it is not offtopic. It is a misprice as they shouldn't be selling them at all)

I'm not sure about printers etc, but there are a lot of SEL's expiring today so it may be worth looing out for tomorrow if you get the chance.
I was a bit miffed when I got home last night..... it's no big deal though. I was looking at my receipt and although the SEL for Hovis bread was 3 for £3.00, I was still charged the full amount........ just under £4. The strange thing was that the SEL didn't expire until today though0 -

I know that Best Before can be sold and Use By can't.
But I thought there might be some Tesco policy to take advantage of.0 -
Again, a little off topic, but would really appreciate an answer as fairly new to this. Why do people look out for SELs finish date? Is it to buy at higher unadvertised price then get double the difference back?
Thanks.Just started comping - 1/12/08 - keep your fingers crossed!0 -

I seem to vaguely remember a chap coming into the store where I worked (going back about 5 years now so not sure if rules/laws have changed). He bought about 20 boxes of cereal bars - couldn't work out why. But, it turns out the SEL said something silly like 1.2p each - we had to sell them to him at the price (e.g. 1.2p each, 6 in a box and from memory he got the boxes for 7p instead of about £1.50 !)
Like I said, not sure if it's legal or there is some law to cover this - be interesting to find out !
Depends on the circumstances, if he had paid for them already then yes they are obliged to refund the overcharge, if he hadn't already paid they could have refused to sell them to him.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0
