Just went to tesco and bulk bought lightbulbs as the shelf said £1.99 each or 3 for 88p. I was hoping to be overcharged and get a nice Double refund but what I actually got was 9 lightbulbs - 3x3for88p!!! What am I going to do with 9 lightbulbs that last 8 years each!!!

Fit them into 9 lightbulb holders.

    That's what I did when I bought some !
Apparently they are designed for exactly that purpose.

I thought tesco had stopped these type of refunds ages ago. I remember buying a scart lead for 2.99 and it went throught the til at 3.99. Thye would not budge on double refund, I got a quid back.
Total Debt -was £14,700 aprox NOW £13,835
    Paying each month-800-850 (hopefully)
Hope to be debt free about aug 2010

This is a question come possible DTD

In terms of my question - if there is a pricing error on a Dot Com delivery should it be DTD as well? I found an error and they are going to correct it - but it only has just twiged that I may be entitled to it.

In terms of a possible mis-price. Croft Original is down as being on offer £6.99 - then £5.99 Now £5.86 valid from 4/2/09. My delivery came today and was charged £6.79.

Interestingly the price is listed at £6.79 still!

The DTD still applies online as i was also over charged and the SA told me she would give me a refund i asked about DTD and she said 'No, we dont do that' I then said ok, so your online policy is different to that in store? She then went and checked it out! Mmm think she just took a swig of her coffee and then said 'oh yes, my apologies DTD.

    Hope this helps.

Tried my luck in Tesco earlier. Box of 6 "happy egg" (free range) eggs £1 (not that good a deal I hear you say) but on the shelf label it said £1 / 4.6p each. So after paying I pointed this out to customer services and they gave me back double the difference on the 2 boxes I bought (£2.88...so £2.32 profit:j)

    Nice find Gatos. :T

To clarify the argument would be that 6x4.6p per egg would equate to 27.6p per box of 6, so lets round that up to 28p as I dont carry .6p coins... so an overcharge of 72p per box x2 = £1.44 refund per box = £2.88 in total.

The SEL should read £1 (16.6p per egg) to be correct

Never come across this type of misprice but I would argue that if it is on the SEL then it is well worth a punt, although you most certainly will face opposition.

Anyone else tried this type of misprice before?

I seem to vaguely remember a chap coming into the store where I worked (going back about 5 years now so not sure if rules/laws have changed). He bought about 20 boxes of cereal bars - couldn't work out why. But, it turns out the SEL said something silly like 1.2p each - we had to sell them to him at the price (e.g. 1.2p each, 6 in a box and from memory he got the boxes for 7p instead of about £1.50 !)

Like I said, not sure if it's legal or there is some law to cover this - be interesting to find out !
