I think you have misconstrued my enquiry .....

Would the "original product" be an "extravagance" given the 33% premium (£1.33 per 180g) over the "copycat" £1 version on offer at Poundland?

BUT is THIS copycat worth it?
(Anyone else an "expert" that's compared both ?)...
... or IF giving it as a gift do you think the recipient would be "as happy" for the relatively "small"-ish cost saving differential" ?

No its certainly not. I didn't enjoy it at all, but I thought the fruit and nut recipe might be worth trying.BUT is THIS copycat worth it?

When I wish to treat myself, my default option is Lidl's f&N (almonds and currants) at a MSE 83p/200g so less expensive than either. I'm not saying its brilliant chocolate either, but the combination hits the spot.
If you're giving a gift, there is little point in the generic anything if the market leader itself is known by its branded name. Gifts are supposed to be luxuries / treats after all (again, this is only my opinion!).Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
