(I purchased the last Strawberry & Pomegranate Bath & Shower Creme)

(Seems the Bath & Shower Creme I bought before was 500ml, bah)
    5LQUZiS.jpg?1
L'Oreal La Manicure Nutri Oil (Nails & Cuticles) 5ml or L'Oreal La Manicure Diamond Force Calcium XT (Powerserum + Base Coat) 5ml, £1 each.

Lookylikey candles update: Trongate, Glasgow store has the £1 candles in Currant And Oakwood. Argyle Street has £2 candles in Pomegranate and £1 candles in Basil And Lime, Currant And Oakwood.

I'm burning a £1 Currant And Oakwood candle currently but I've lost my sense of smell a bit this week :)

I spent 10 minutes doing a reccie in a London branch today. The Christmas section included rude cards - the kind you'd give to someone you don't like (if you disliked them enough to spend money telling them, that is) and gubbins. Also lots of elf stuff including a 24-day behaviour scratch card which I was half tempted to get for our 3 yo. Its so easy to fill the house with carp thinking "its only a pound", but I stopped myself: she's got plenty of stuff already and won't miss it. I also made sure I sniffed at the candles: they have Basil & Lime, and Pomegranate which are exactly the same as Aldi's as I suspected. The Current and Oakwood isn't though - but it smells really nice.

Managed to get the xylophone though, so am happy! Also a day-to-page 2019 A5 HB diary: I thought I might treat myself to a "better" one for 2019 but they are so expensive! The next nearest I could find to it was in The Works, and that was around £3, so this saved me £2.

Re: the fruit & nut Twin Peaks, I read about it on here but have not yet seen it so am starting to think its a mythical object!

  • Hi V4M,
I haven't found the candles in my locals yet but got excited when i found the lotions and fragrance. Sadly these aren't to my taste and remind me of stale toiletry sets some of my elderly aunties used to give me as a child. I don't mean to come across as rude or spoilt but the sets were usually sun faded and plastic was brittle and the sets smelled like stale patchouli or dusty musty perfume
Anyhow i hope the candles are better. I've had the Aldi candles in the past and given them to a friend as housewarming present too and he loved them and this guy and his GF love their Penhaligon's, Aesop, Jo Malone etc, in fact they're place is littered with those brands of smellies.
I saw the own brand Jaffa Cakes in store again and tried to get a photo but the guard told me I'm not allowed to take photos near the tills!!

Trongate, Glasgow Poundland has *those* £1 Rude Mugs in again, with new additions - "Festive AF", "Knobs", "Anchor", "Ducking Christmas" and "The Only Thing Getting Blown Today (teacup motif)."

The two from last year, with the Cactii and Cockerels :p are back in stock.

Funny or lame, depending on your opinion!

Edit: A few of the mugs here (interesting to see some mugs I've never spotted in stores, like the High Heels and Unicorn - the site is worth a browse, actually - there's a Poundland Press Office showcase page with all sorts of items, from clothing to everyday stuff)

Matchmakers 120g, £1: Cool Mint, Salted Caramel, Zingy Orange £1 (Tesco are selling these for the same price too - and a Gingerbread version is available, not sure if Poundland has this variety).
    ljNIlO6.jpg?1
Nivea Caring Shower Cream 750ml, £2: Rich Moisture Soft (With Almond Oil), Indulgent Moisture Orange (Bamboo Milk/Orange Scent).
    OCcfzne.jpg?1
Edit: Forgot to add this - L.O.L. Surprise! Bath And Shower Bubbles 400ml Blueberry Scent (Dermatologically Tested, For Sensitive & Dry Skin) £1.

I had a Google just now to check the weight (180g btw) and it seems the bars have caused quite a stir today! Some of the pics are pretty unbelievable! Which leads me to believe they may be staged.

I picked one up today and have tried a bit with my afternoon coffee. It's quite big, so it gave the illusion of value for money at the point of sale.

Plus points: it's sweet, crunchy and tastes vaguely of honey.
Minus points: the chocolate itself is not v nice.
Conclusion: I can live without it.

Would you (OR ANYONE) choose this at £1 or the genuine article, that is a Toblerone, for £1.33 for the same amount (180g) ?

Found those novelty mugs, at the end of the aisle (near the groceries) in Trongate, Glasgow earlier. Scan at £2.

    Heels, Unicorn or Hairdryer options.

Following on from the Patisserie de Bain body mists I previously posted, I found a whole display of various Items: the same scent body mists, hand creams in Parma Violet, orange crush, raspberry roulade, tiny hand creams in violet, large hand & body lotion violet, and some soap bars - 1 was lemon bonbon, can’t remember the other 2(?)

Edit: forgot to say where, this was in Brighton London Road (the bigger one)

Asda very basic jaffa cakes were about 30p when I last looked, ditto Aldi's. Both are fine unless you are particular about them. I hazard a guess that dunkers might actually prefer them :D
