The pictures are fine, when I click to reply the page goes weird. But that's probably more due to individual computer settings I would have thought?

Any feedback on the £1 damp traps?

We are changing our laundry drying location, from double kitchen to small bedroom, and wondered if they would be any good in addition to opening the window/ heating the room dependent on season.

The kitchen is so well aired and heated in the normal course of things we've never had to do any extra and zero damp/mould in 10+ years.

I put an additional comment on Post #6940:

Edit: On a PC/22" monitor: Mozilla has my pictures displayed correctly with the new website, also fine on the old MSE.

IE and the new MSE seems oversized. IE and the old MSE displays correctly.

Tried on a tablet and it's the same.
It seems to be an issue with IE and the website itself, rather than me uploading humungous pictures - as I resize them before uploading. Tbh, I thought it had been fixed as I still log in to the "old" MSE website, and don't often view the "new" MSE.

It's a pain, but if you really want to see the photos, you could right-click "View Image". Or, "Copy Image Location" and view them in your browser.

*IE = Internet Explorer

Can't speak for Chrome, Safari or any other browsers, as I don't use those.

I got a dehumidifier for drying clothes in a cool room, does wonders. You can usually find a second hand one on Gumtree fairly cheaply. Can't imagine the little traps would do anything having seen the amount of water the dehumidifier pulls out of the air. Feels warmer as the air is dryer too.

It's the same for me.

Viewing within the thread is fine, but go to reply (like I am doing now) and the page is MORE THAN TWICE AS WIDE - with a horizontal scroll bar at the bottom where the "grey section" is less than half the width of the bar.

I'm using CHROME.

The last image posted (LouLou's "Two Pairs of Baby Socks") on my laptop (15" diagonal - so 9" high & 12" wide) is .......

... a HUGE 16" WIDE and almost 8½" tall

Regards using a tablet - unless specified/requested otherwise this page would present as a MOBILE site on that device and NOT the DESKTOP view that I have at this moment.

Not sure about the reference to "new website" or "old MSE", as far as I'm aware this has been a "problem" for a long time and I've encountered it many times, on and off, for several years

I use a Windows tablet (Windows tablets FTW!) so my comment about tablets maybe isn't valid - most will be using iOS or Android...probably... :p

99% of the time I'm on a PC.

Hopefully the image quirks can get sorted, but sounds like it's actually a longer-term problem than I thought.

I use Firefox, but it doesn't really matter what browser I use - the image sizes you have uploaded are simply far too big.

http://i.imgur.com/YGH1co1.jpg?1 is 1567 x 800
http://i.imgur.com/1aLKhLG.jpg?1 is 1785 x 800

So I think you are only resizing the images to a height of 800, which is still large. But it's the width of the images that is causing the problems.

(Mods feel free to delete this chatter in the interim - but I am just responding).

At my end, the pictures display fine and at a decently viewable ratio/size for this forum (on certain configurations) so I had no knowledge of "annoying" anyone - if that's what's being implied (?).

Either I'll stop posting pictures (to avoid more complaints) or suggestions to "solve" it are welcome.

Doesn't seem to be an issue posting these images elsewhere, eg, on Hotukdeals, where I sometimes post Poundland/world Deals, too, so I assumed MSE Forums were the same.

I'm not implying anything. If I had meant anything, I would have said so.

Some forums and boards automatically resize posted images and the reader can click on them to view the full size. I don't know if that's what is happening on these forums, but it's certainly not happening for me.

I tried to re-upload one of your images to Imagur, but it didn't give me any option to resize, or I simply missed it because it was hidden somewhere. I do know that some other image hosts give you the option to resize, such as TinyPic.
