In poundland most bulbs/plants are now bogof and I bought several packs of white acidanthera - lovely white flowers similar to gladiolas!
Acidanthera is a summer flower so fragrant, exotic-looking and lovely that it defies logic. No rare pearl of great price, this summer bloomer is affordable, readily available and practically idiot-proof to grow.
One thing that’s not so simple is what to call it. Officially, the flower is now called Gladiolus callianthus or Gladiolus callianthus murielae. But you will still often find it for sale as Acidanthera (or maybe Acidanthera bicolor or Acidanthera murielae). It’s also sometimes called Abyssinian gladiolus, even Peacock Orchid! Most often it is simply acidanthera.0 -
Hello - I found 4 different titles of this lovely picture/story book today in the Ashington store - Paddington Bear, Paddington on a Grand Tour, Paddington in the Garden and Paddington at the Carnival. Books are lovely and priced at £6.99 on the back, I've looked on Amazon and they are selling for approx £5. Apparently they come in mixed boxes so not possible to get a large number of one title.
The new film is out shortly with a computerised Paddington who looks frightening to me!£216 saved 24 October 20140 -

We have been using one of these since Christmas and have absolutely no probs with it. Watched a program on TV which discussed cheap cables with those that cost a lot more. They found absolutely no difference (in fact, more people preferred the picture using the cheaper cable)0 -
