Got this book yesterday in the Dewsbury store, it has a cover price of £40, its a really nice heavy book. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ROYAL-HOSPITAL-CHELSEA-A-Year-in-Pictures-/251431726653?_trksid=p2054897.l4275

Not sure about the idea of judging the quality of a book by its weight!

Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!

Good spot on the NYC Liquid Eyeliner, it's the one I buy anyway (usually full price or on 3 for 2!). I prefer it as it's one of the few that doesn't come with the horrible, stiff plastic nib and has a real brush on it: so it's easier to apply.

Today, in Trongate, Glasgow Poundland I got a "14 litre, with lid" black storage box (going to go back and get a few more, had a few bags by then). Will fit A4 size easily, to give you an idea of the size of them.

And 2 litres of Diet Irn Bru. Only downside was that they are right by the entrance, near a fan heater, and the bottle felt somewhat warm..which may put some buyers off.

I was just stating it is a very heavy book as people looking at the link I posted would not be able tell how thick & the quality of the book actually is, & no I wouldn't judge the quality by the weight, it has very good quality images which show the day to day life of the Royal Hospital

How much is it full price? I vaguely remember seeing NYC products before but I think it must have been in Poundland so I wasn't sure if they were a decent brand or not. Glad I took a punt!

The brush on this one is softer and just easier to apply somehow. Much neater. I think the brush is thinner aswell - than my usual one I mean. For the past few years I've used the Collection 2000 one but this time I tried their waterproof variety and found the results disappointing. The brush left lines in the colour and later in the day the colour would start disintegrating into bits.

I might stock up on the NYC then if if others like it too. Haven't done so far as wasn't sure if it would get thick soon, run out or brush disintegrate or something.

Superdrug has NYC liquid eyeliner for £2.99 though my usual Black one is out of stock online at the moment (the only Black I see is in a different design bottle on there at £2.49, so maybe NYC have changed packaging). The one I'm using is: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41qRH6sn0aL._SX450_.jpg

I can remember when Rimmel did liquid eyeliner in a see-through glass bottle in Brown (years ago, when my love affair with liquid eyeliner begun)! :p Back then Rimmel was THE bargain basement cosmetics brand, with Constance Carroll a slight step below: their prices are probably higher now they have a "sexier" image.

I'm also quite liking the £1 Primark liquid eyeliner my sis got me (which also has a brush) which seems more waterproof than the NYC. The NYC is watery-inky and dissolves when washing off with water, whereas the Primark liquid eyeliner comes off in a plasticky strip. If that makes sense.

@Vatarax: NYC and Rimmel are now both owned by Coty, so you could be onto something! Similarly Collection 2000, a present day version of what Rimmel were (probably) are part of the same group that produce Constance Carroll cosmetics.

PS: When my liquid eyeliner goes a tad dry, I get a bit more life out of it by putting a little water in and giving it a good shake.
