Welcome to the thread, littlesnuggy! When a Poundland opens in a city like Bath, you know that times have certainly changed!
I live in Bath's polar opposite in many ways, a new town with quite high unemployment but due to nearby very large towns, we can't get a Poundland.
A store opened in a very similar town across the county, not so long ago, but they already had a Poundw*rld. Sadly, the Poundland was closed down within the year.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -

They're suprisingly stable, actually. Much made about a two bedroom house with an auction estimate of £60k as that's so much cheaper than usual.
I'm excited about a Poundland though- we had a What! shop for a while and a pound shop when the old Southgate centre was emptying before demolition but this place will be rammed! They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0 -
Found some Revlon single eyeshadows and Sally Hansen plumping lipglosses this week.A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

Sorry this is completey OT but that place ended up selling for £164k!
It's undoubtedly an affluent area, but locals still want access to the sorts of deals mentioned on here without having to trek to Bristol. A small Tesco Express opened in the city centre a few months ago (haven't worked out if they have the same offers as the main stores yet), and there's ongoing planning issues over a long-promised Lidl. No sign of a Primark yet though0 -

Sorry for continuing OT but Primark did look at the old Woolies store on Moorland Road (now Sainsbury's Local) but rejected it because there wasn't enough parking. I suspect that they just expect people to traipse over to Bristol. They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0 -
