From poundlands blog (nov 23rd 2009)

    "
Poundland has just launched its very own make-up range – Chit Chat.

The new make-up line is fantastic and offers products including lipgloss, mascara, foundation, nail varnish and eyeliner to name a few. Make-up can be very expensive, however Poudland is helping us to still look fabulous over the Christmas season by offering make-up for just £1 per item! You can afford to re-vamp your entire make-up bag at that price!

I know many of you will be thinking, ‘oh I can’t live without my branded make-up’ but do give Poundland’s Chit Chat range a go and I promise you, you will be amazed! I am an avid fan of the lipgloss and bronzer… :A

I have a chit chat 4 colour eyeshadow block and it's not too bad, the lighter colours in the 4 wear off fast but the darker are ok. I also tried a mascara which was along same lines as a maybelline one have had in the past, with the little lengthening fibres in it, was perfectly good for every day use.
Sometimes you can strike lucky and get Revlon, Bourgois, L'Oreal or Max Factor goodies :)
Trying very hard to be frugal and OS - just plodding on and doing my best!

In their email, they've got some lovely gifts. Ideal stocking fillers.

Well all 3 of my children love the Marley films, and the book was a big hit last night at bedtime, even my 11 yr old wanted me to read it to her, snuggled up in bed!!!!

Thank you to all those who posted about bargains. This week Boots have been putting web ads up for Bulldog male grooming products. Poundland Darlington had both Bulldog original face wash and shave gel. Even on offer it seems to be around £4.49.
Poundworld had loads of lovely Betty Crocker candles. Apologies about the leave in conditioner I mentioned in my last post, it's in Poundland and it's Pantene Moisture Balance not Boost. A rose by any other name... it's still excellent. Poundworld also had men's fingerless gloves, ideal for iPhone users. Plus Thinsulate beanies. Also Andrex flushable wipes - these are brilliant.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

I know this is a poundland thread but i was in PoundWORLD today and was so chuffed to find Betty Crocker scented candles in some fab 'flavours' I got one of each and they had Creamy Vanilla, Coconut Cream Pie, Cranberry Spice (hurrah for a non god awful xmas scent!), Candy Cane and Mint Chocolate Cookie .. Also picked up an Ed Hardy candle in Vanilla as a little stocking filler gift for my sister.. now that i think of it these would make super cute little gifts for teachers pressies! :T

Thank you for this. I love scented candles - as long as they live up to their promises... lol. I went in to Poundworld because of your post and bought six today. :T

The Betty Crocker candles are excellent, lovely scents and smell lovely when burning :-) I would highly recommend
  • Elle Macpherson Bare Firming Lotion 250ml
Elle Macpherson Self Calming Bath & Body Oil 150ml

Both were around £5 each in Boots.

Thanks for this! I have paid full price for them in Boots before and while the firming lotion did not give me thighs of steel, it did make my skin feel smoother :D
