I think you're going to lose rather more by that approach that Poundland will. Good luck.
I doubt it. I can do without buying empty boxes and having their manager lie about what they do with receipts as backed up by a till staff.
I had heard before about about how bad Poundland were before but untill youre stung you'll still use them.
Just watch for their practice of not giving you a receipt instead you have to ask for one - this is how they get away with selling empty boxes and broken tat.
You can buy something, they dont give you a receipt, then 5 minutes later when you've bought an empty box they can turn around and say you need a receipt!
The manager stood there and told me it was policy to give you a receipt and the woman on the till said they actually ask if you want one!
Just check what youre buying while youre in store - dont be afraid to open boxes cos you cant trust Poundland.
Also they are now losing £80 a month average from just this one customer, might not be nothing to them, but thats £80 some other store will benefit from.1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31
10 & 20p: misc savings £2.70
50p: Christmas presents £3.50
£2: holidays £2.000 -

Your Poundland must be very different from all the ones I've been in. Not experienced any of this, and I've always been given a receipt.
Isn't the simple answer just to make sure you get receipts for everything - Poundland included?0 -

My local poundland always gives receipts.
They had polaroid diy photo calanders and photo paper in the Staines one today that looked like a good buy for £1, although since seen they are only £1.49 on amazon plus p&p.0 -
They should just give you a receipt yes, but they dont - sometimes they just bin them straight away without offering, or they ask if you want a receipt and a bag within the same breath. If you ask me they are relying on people saying no, I stupidly thought they were trying to be green ! I also never expected to buy an empty box. It was the managers attitude and lies that got to me, he even turned his back on me! even though the woman at the till said yes they do ask if you want a receipt and they dont just give you one!
You know half the toys they sell fall to bits on day one, electricals dont work, etc etc so they dont want people coming back for refunds etc. I think they also hope people will think 'it's only £1' and not bother complaining.1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31

You've got a problem branch there by the sound of it. Their HO would be delighted to hear from you - if they're fiddling the customers they're bound to be doing it to the company as well.0 -

When you think about it every year the quality of Poundland's products will be going down to counteract inflation...0
