The branch in north tyneside, Silverlink, has a great little plane.

Soild wooden body & robust 'foamy' wings. I wound it up and it lifted straight off, from the living room carpet.
Should be a goodie for still air, over the field - with the Grandbairn.

One thing that I haven't seen in ages, Thick Tea biscuits - most branches of Poundland/Poundworld have 2 for £1 offers on Fox's biscuits. These lovely plain biscuits taste like Farley's Rusks and are THE best thing to go with a cuppa, yet they have vanished. Again. The barrel dry goods shop used to sell them but it must be a year now since I've seen any.
Microwave popcorn, both sweet and salty, is 4 bags for 3 at the moment in Poundworld. Pops really well, great for school holidays. When I was childminding, on rainy afternoons we would pop popcorn, put the seats in rows and have an afternoon at the cinema with a video.

I got a double CD of 60s music - original artists and recordings last week. No big names but some great lesser known 60s hits and bargaintastic at £1!

I also got some Banana Boat spray on self-tan. And Galaxy Counters and Minstrels are available for £1 a bag - at Sainburys the offer is 2 for £3 - so a good bargain.

I popped into the Liverpool store today - no Cadbury's Roses :-( but they did have lovely ladies straw hats - not sure what the right name would be - a cowboy style? Anyway they were at the back opposite the sweets corner.

They also had lovely canvas shoulder bags for hols - some were a leopard print and some were a sort of star burst design - fab for £1 if you don't like a huge beach bag! Alternatively there were quite thick jute bags that would be good for the beach ( if a bit rough on the skin!)

I picked up a small lilo too - it's yellow and it says inflatable mattress on the packet! it's approx 70cm x 30cm if my memory serves me right from reading the packet!

Lots of flip flops for kids and ladies too! HTH!
To infinity and beyond - but mostly to Tesco!:D
  • Luton branch yesterday had £1 Nair wax strips, large body and small face ones. Thought it was a bargain but the queues are wayyyyy too big!_pale_
  • Apologies if this has already been mentioned as I'm new to
The forum. I was in my local poinciana today and discovered that they now sell sets of 4 slate coasters and single placemats for one pound each:) quality appears to be quite good, was looking at similar ones for
    £50 for a set!

Watch the backings on these slates, many of them are quite shoddy - perhaps you could make your own though, with craft glue and felt.
