  • Many of the usual suspects - in confectionery, cakes and biscuits, After Eights. Toffeefee, Terry's Segsations, Mini Oreos 3 for £2, lovely looking Dundee Cakes in both round and bar forms.
Toiletries - tried to ignore as I'm not buying toiletries in 2011, but saw large bottles (330 ml) of brand name shampoo - Supersoft I think - Original Source and Radox / Palmolive ranges in shower gels. Timotei had a shampoo for brunettes that I've not seen before.

What I did get was a Simpsons 2011 Annual, a QI 'G' annual, Richard Madeley's Fathers and Sons and a biography of David Tennant in the books line.

A non name brand pack of 30 caffeine and glucose tablets.

A twinpack of thick bleach and an Airwick Country Berries Gel air freshener in the household dept.

My 34 year old ladle - Green Shield Stamps 'purchase' as a newlywed! - broke yesterday, RIP, so I replaced it with an Anthony Worral Thompson one, RRP £3.99.
    A very nice 'Garfield' mug.
A novelty guitar shaped ice-cube tray.
    A pack of two hostas.

Seen but not bought - montbretia, lily of the valley, mixed summer bulbs, some very good quality pure white crockery, loads of silicone bakeware, cutters and pot holders, but not seen - the Calippo style moulds, ah well.

I really enjoyed reading this, it felt as if I was walking round the shop with you mcculloch!:T

I've yet to look at the gardening bits, will look next time.
A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.

Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

    Polaroid Photo Printer Paper :)

    (12 pack of A4 sheets)

I hate to say it but I bought this as a stocking filler for my Dad for Xmas and it was really bad.... I'd test it with your printer before buying anymore.

    Sorry!

I just love Poundland. Some people can be really snobby about such stores, but in these belt tightening times, its just a good store. Although some of the toiletries can sometimes be slightly cheaper in Wilkinsons. I still love Poundland!
I agree about the snobbery. I've been buying from my local £Land since it first opened years ago, before my DS2 and DD were born and they're 9 and 8!! I've still got a huge thick red glass christmas plate that I use for Christmas cakes. There are some fab bargains and I for one would never stop buying in there :j

I pop in to Poundland whenever I'm in town. I am a snob but there's nothing wrong with a bargain. It's great for lunch box cakes, cereals, books, kids shampoo and all the weird and wonderful surprises that appear in there. It would be nice if some of the customers bought some soap and actually used it (nobody on this thread of course) as I always get stuck by the resident stinky customer in the queue, but to be honest most people are like me and just trying to save a few quid. Same with Home Bargains, Poundworld and B&M.

the moor in sheffield had some LOVELLLYYYYY new stuff in today, it looked all fresh and new.

    picked up:

    - bag of popping candy segments (DH lovessss them)
    - chuggington annual 2011 (trying to decide whether to let DS have it now or save it till christmas (ohh i'm a meanie mummy aren't I)
    - the usual - 2pk rolls of parcel sellotape, 2pk of clear tape and a roll of brown paper.
    - foam animal stickers (for arty projects). they also had smily faces/ pirates adn a couple of other sets.

there was a LOAD of stuff for making crafty cards (adults) including pram shaped card blanks, and lots of the stick on embellishments.

heat proof going out cups (am sure someone can explain this better) - the type you may take a coffee to work in or on camping trips (normally silver with black bases etc for adults)... in toy story and winnie the pooh designs.
ohh I coulda spent a fortune.

cereals as mentioned above - toy story choccy stars, bitesize wheatabix (fruit and nut), oatybix (i think), toffee hoop cereal bars, and i think frosties and stuff.
