In my local there's a load of melamine paint, tile paint and radiator enamel in a wide range of colours. All International. Great if someone's planning a bargain kitchen makeover.
  • I got a cute Minnie Mouse miniature cake pan and Cinderella bowl the other day :)

Quickachips - a shallow basket to cook all sorts of things in the oven

Fantastic for cooking oven chips - reusable, flexible, and only £1

Placed directly on the oven shelf, Quickachips basket allows hot air to circulate to give your oven chips, garlic bread and pastries that perfect all-round crispness.

also from Amazon at £3.48 :-)

Egg timer (put in pan with the egg and it tells you when the egg is soft, medium or hard)

pop up bin (meant to be for gardening but I need it for camping)
    4 stainless steel teaspoons
    600 freezer bags

Many of the usual suspects - in confectionery, cakes and biscuits, After Eights. Toffeefee, Terry's Segsations, Mini Oreos 3 for £2, lovely looking Dundee Cakes in both round and bar forms.
Toiletries - tried to ignore as I'm not buying toiletries in 2011, but saw large bottles (330 ml) of brand name shampoo - Supersoft I think - Original Source and Radox / Palmolive ranges in shower gels. Timotei had a shampoo for brunettes that I've not seen before.

What I did get was a Simpsons 2011 Annual, a QI 'G' annual, Richard Madeley's Fathers and Sons and a biography of David Tennant in the books line.

A non name brand pack of 30 caffeine and glucose tablets.

A twinpack of thick bleach and an Airwick Country Berries Gel air freshener in the household dept.

My 34 year old ladle - Green Shield Stamps 'purchase' as a newlywed! - broke yesterday, RIP, so I replaced it with an Anthony Worral Thompson one, RRP £3.99.
    A very nice 'Garfield' mug.
A novelty guitar shaped ice-cube tray.
    A pack of two hostas.

Seen but not bought - montbretia, lily of the valley, mixed summer bulbs, some very good quality pure white crockery, loads of silicone bakeware, cutters and pot holders, but not seen - the Calippo style moulds, ah well.

I just love Poundland. Some people can be really snobby about such stores, but in these belt tightening times, its just a good store. Although some of the toiletries can sometimes be slightly cheaper in Wilkinsons. I still love Poundland!
