today i got a (really heavy amazing quality) granite chopping board, as far as i know there are usually very expensive. i might nip back and buy a couple more to use as a cheeseboard as a present for someone.
Went into poundland looking for these today, was hoping to use them for a cheeseboard gift too, but they didn't have any. Did find some lovely slate 'placemats' though, that will work just as well if not nicer.0 -

Poundland and home bargains sell green Fresh Bags, 20 for £1.
They pay for themselves before youve even used a couple. Put your veg in and the veg stays fresh for over a week. Honestly they are truly amazing. Ideal for a single person or a small family who only used a small amount of veg per meal.
My OH got 3 times the sprouts we needed for Christmas, I put them in one of these bags and they were just like new when i took them out for our New Years Day Dinner, I believe there is also meat and bread bags. Who ever invented them deserves a medal.
These are well worth using and a bargain.
I used to buy them from Lakeland years ago (don't know if they still do them) and used to pay at the time just under a fiver for them.0 -

I have the green veg bags but found my veg went sweaty. What did I do wrong as I'm happy to try again.0

fruit and veg produce gas as they ripen which then condensates on the bag, so you have to dry the bag every few days. you cant just put the fruit/veg in the bag and then leave it for a fortnight, as it will rot away in the wet

I've seen people write the names of the cheeses next to them in chalk on these, looks v effective if you'ver got nice writing.Hope is not a strategy.0 -
