Another bean grower eh? Mine are enjoying the weather, and i am measuring everyday..sad really!
I picked my first courgette yesterday as well, think i am getting a bit of a theme going in my garden *cough*Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

I tried courgettes last year, they all started growing lovely and then just withered up and died.Thinking of trying cucumbers next year to add to my lettuces and tomatoes.
We've had so many torrential downpours that the beans are a bit battered but so tasty. Can't beat home grown veg, I love taking tomatoes and lettuce for my dinner every day and then coming home to beans and cabbage for tea.I've ordered some winter spuds and spring cabbages and am going to try and keep some lettuces going in my little baby greenhouse.

My lettuces tasted awful, and i picked some leaves and waited for new growth just as bad..will try a new variety next year.
spuds have just flowered (2nd batch) will hopefully taste as good as first!
I am going to order some winter spuds as well, as have a free voucher for a company that undersent an order.
Toms not so good this year, and were very straggly, strawberries really good and am on 2nd batch.
I thoroughly agree with you about homegrown veg..love it!Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

My strawberries were hopeless, had about 10 in total but I've added another pot for all the shooters so am hoping for much better next year. My lettuces and tomatoes are delicious, the lettuce is just a pack of mixed leaves from Wilkinsons and they are ready to eat within a month. I've got 5 different types of tomato, favourite so far is Gardners delight but I'm waiting for my tigerella ones. I've never had stripy tomatoes!
My garden is tiny and completely over flowing, I've got the beans growing up Sunflowers so I could have both.I'd love to have a big enough garden for an apple tree.

My walls are full of tomatoes and beans! There isn't a spare inch. My next door neighbour doesn't use his garden though....
I've just got a mediteranean lettuce mix from Wilko aswell, should be having my first taste next week. Tasty and healthy all this homegrown veg and salad.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 1026 - Proud to be dealing with my debtsDebt at LMB: £22500. Good stuff Bau, here's to a peaceful Bank holiday. It will allow you to get to grips with stuff.
I think it sounds a generous offer to you neighbour:DBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
