Gailey, forgive me for a moment, but I am going to put my "strict Mother" act on.....
You keep saying you are still worrying about money......but you are still spending. OK, so you might be picking up bargains but to be honest, what is the point of picking up a bargain for Christmas and then worrying now about not having enough money to live on?
You say that DD has loads of toys - so why buy loads more for Christmas/birthdays? Children only come to expect what is routinely given to them - stop buying so much, and they will soon learn the value of a present chosen with love rather than counting how many packages they have to open.
You keep saying you have to join the £10 a day challenge - don't hang about - get joining!
You keep saying you will get your creations made and listed but as yet you are not putting the time away for this.
Sorry if this sounds harsh, but you need to stop "talking about it" and get on and do it! You have spent a lot of money on the sewing machine, fabric, scissors etc and now have to make the goods in order to recoup the cost and make a profit.
Starting up in a new business is always tough - don't make it any tougher by spending money you don't have and can't afford!
We are all good at putting things off and procrastinating - spending time doing other things rather than the productive stuff at times, I know....I am one of the worst! But if you are worrying about money, then you need need need to do something about it rather than just say "I need to do this".
Make a plan of action - a REAL one. Make a list of what you have to do in order to be up and running. OK, so clearing a workable space is probably a valid component of that list so you can work effectively, but only once you know exactly what it is you are trying to achieve can you work out how you go about actually achieving your goals.
The other thing is that perhaps you should concentrate on one thing at a time - maybe you are trying to do too many things too soon.
so you are trying to ebay the contents of your house, set up a business on ebay, and set up a cloth nappy distributors. If you find that you are talking about them all but not actually achieving any of them (apart from buggies being listed) then it might be better to concentrate on one in the first instance.
So, you could have a 2 week ebay marathon - list everything you can lay your hands on. This will have the desired effect of space clearing as well as getting money in the bank.
With the money in the bank you can then look at starting up your cloth nappy distribution.....put in the time and effort to get this up and running.
With the space that has been created from the ebay marathon you can then start making your gailey creations in between cloth nappy parties.
Sometimes by trying to do too much, we achieve nothing but stress, and that is not a good thing - break it down into chunks that are manageable for you and your lifestyle.
Hope that helps, and hope I don't come across too harsh!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hy hypno, thanks for advice.
Yes I do procrastinate and I am a worrier!I am going to join 10 day challange, sign up today and start doing from tommorow.
I am glad I started on housework as amount of clutetra nd work to do overwhelms me plus i have found moer I can sell.
I have already listed my more expensive items but ist teh smaller items that need to go, carbbots not bringing in major money but good pocket money!
I am going to start listing 10 items a day to make it more managable chunck as got a lot to list! 70 items a week sounds good for me.
As for the business I have made a few but im practicing to get better quality as im new to sewing and still learning, like i said in previous post am changing size so been playing about with that. I hope to have my 1st gailey creation listed this week! The business is still very much my main focus.
As for toys, im actually selling some old ones and have used some paypal money from prams to fund chistmas, jsut ahving started amkes me feel better more in control rather than leaving it to last minute, im not going mad this year and only spending a fraction of what I spent last year.
Have actually started a few lists to keep me focussed more over last week and am achieving more.
You did hit the nail over the head im trying to achieve a lot!
I like your idea of 2 week marathon.
Am looking foward to money in bank and no more clutter so will be working very hard over next few weeks.pad by xmas2010 £14,636.65/£20,000::beer:

No hun, I need motivating, part of reasion I joined mse as everyones stories spur me on.
You were right about some things.
I hate listing but must do lots as not everything will sell at carboot.
I have joined £10 a day challange and if my pram sells tonight will do it!
what if I earn more than £10 say 70 does that mean i met my £10 a day.
Might even list 20 items tommorow!
Still want to get on with clearing the house!
Plan to do 2/3 more car bootspad by xmas2010 £14,636.65/£20,000::beer:

Why not set up a signature to help you keep track of things.
So, for example there are 8 days left in August including today, so £80 to complete the August challenge.
So your signature would say "August £10 a day challenge - £xx/£80"
That way, you can see exactly how far behind or ahead of the months total you are!
Of course the September one will start soon, so you will then change your signature to show £xx/£300Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
I now Have 8 days to make £80! for the £10 a day challange, wish lightspeed would send me surveys daily.
Have only had 3 no spend days this month and pledged 8!So maybe was bit ambitous will do better in september.
Spent £125 out of £200 grocery challange so might just make £200 target this month if next shop is a good one! We start our month from 15th as thats when hubby gets paid, any additional come out of my £25 week misc budget.
will have to research thsi matched betting.
Not sure how to do signature but will try here goes

Not yet as was going to get one cheap of company online for £200 but my cousin said he would help me for free so been waiting for him to ring me, but will chase him up next wek as ebay fees are going up so need a website as well as ebay.
Im getting used to my sewing machine now and my practice attemts have been good but discovered few problems with bag size which need so be made bigger so been scouing cheap fabric chops to ensure I can sell my creations at competive prices as the lovley cath kidson fabric brought off ebay makes them pricey.
Been busy selling personal items bags, prams and clothes to raise funds.
Will keep everyone updated when its done as been looking at some and have some fab design ideas.
Has been slow to get off ground as been busy doing lots of things.pad by xmas2010 £14,636.65/£20,000::beer:

Also ahve entered 30 comps today, doing weird experiment if I enter 400 a month will I win anything? Im not a lucky person but in the words od great mr T every little helps!

4)Sort out spare room!So its then fit to work in as busy all day wed sewing!
5)Hoover throughout
6)Enter another 20 comps!
7)List at least 10things on ebay.
Watching willy wonkers choc factory made me hungry, quite like it hes crazier than me.
