gailey, I think you ought to join in the NSD challenge......just think how much you are spending on "unnecessary" stuff!!!

go to Martin's demotivator thingy on here, and put in the cost of those magazines and other "stuff" you buy.......you will be amazed at how much this adds up to over the year!

If you cut right back to just one magazine every so often, or do the 3 issues for a £1 jobs on quidco instead, you would find your budgets a whole lot healthier!!!

It's amazing how much you spend without realising it or wanting to. I think it's a great idea to keep a spending diary as it certainly helps, especially when you spend a fiver for example and afterwards you think how it could have been paid towards a debt, or maybe in your case stock.#

Hope it's going ok, and you can get started now. When you see money coming in from sales it'll really spur you on.

Thanks yuki bear think I will start a spending diary.

Well today was a day of mixed emotions brought some sale stuff for daughter 27quid as was 70%final clearance, refunded 2 ebayers for lost/damaged goods!

However one of the prams I listed is on £155 already with 2 days left and 11 watchers! Also awaiting £120 for payment of another pram.
Got a buggy listed as well but sadly no interest then got one more pram to list.
Got a refund from ebayer which will sue to buy more fabric probably.
Still waiting to hear off 2 people who commited to buying goods another £55 worth if they both sell.
Really need to do well this sunday at carboot sale. not sure what weather forcast like.
I have to make costly trip to city centre tomorow 3.90 bus fair then buy scissors and ribbon.Just need to start making now and earning profit.

Took daughter to park today, picked loads of blackberries which is always good food for free!
Also took min money to corner shop and just brought paper, milk and soft drink so am doing better!
making home made lasagne tonight and still got food left from weekly shop so grocery challange doing well but no spend days not so well only manged 2 so far this month was aiming for 8.
    Had no sureys today either.

Still need to raise an extra 100quid for nappy kit and probablys start selling nappies in september.

You can still have 8 nsd in aug, there is still time :)
Ebay and buggy's is frustrating, I have a travel system on ebay and this is the second time I've listed it, as I always get 6-8 watchers straight away and a couple of questions (am doing collection only so minimises people straight away) but no-one ever buys it lol. I only want it gone so I can buy a new one hehe, but I refuse to have 3 buggies in the house as that would make me an addict and I'm not that lol.

Are you a sucker for buying your kids things if they're in the sale? I am too and I am trying to learn not to as I go back to the wardrobe later on and realise she's grown too big for it and hasn't worn it, so back on ebay it goes (usually for a loss lol)

yuki bear you shoud never list as collection only as limits people and reduces price they easy enough to post as i must have posted at least 20.
The trick is very good description with brand name so make sure it comes up on relevent searches. Its really important with prasm to ahve a few good pics and take it on nice sunny day in garden, also a gallary pic is essential.
I also like bold and nice apttrened border. im downsizing to 2 buggies now some were brought to sell anyway. What system have you got?

yes im sucker for buying sale but daughter does need new clothes and i like specific brands so mainly buy in sales, outlets or 2 nd hand off ebay.
Not sure if thats good money saving or not.I like to sell old clothes to fund new ones, I try to be ruthless and only keep what i love for next child.
She has far too many jackets but I love them all! luckily last years winter coat still fits.

I know listing as collection only reduces potential buyers, but I have never couriered anything before and was scared lol. Sounds silly I know. It's only a Graco travel system and they don't sell for much anyway but it's taking up room now and I thought it would help someone out, obviously not though. Shame as it's fab condition and I had everything out on garden with great sunshine for pics, and everything pictured individually as well as together.

I like certain brands of kids clothing too, but my dd (14 months) is a pickle for eating and getting messy so have resorted back to supermarket brands at the mo as she is ruining all her clothes, so it doesn;t matter so much at those prices, especially in the sales too.

It is daunting to sell parms at first but now I find it easy, used to make one large box out of 2 crisp boxes, used to work for supermarket so was easy to get now i wrap in bubblewrap and black bags with plenty of tape.

My advice to you considering its a graco and dont reach much is try your local paper, where we live we have bristol netmums, u could try 4sale board on a mums forum or I see plenty at the carboot sale would be your quickest option.

Only exception is if its a girly fabric like firecracker or mimmi as they can do ok on ebay provided your willing to post. The mosaics do the best not sure if thats the model you have.

As for the clothes I love boden and gap as tehyw ash so well even 2d hand stuff off ebay looks in good quality condition as they so hardwearing, love monsoon for special occasions.

My favourite cheaper shops are tu in sainsbury some lush stuff, mini mde boots again lovley but finding it hard to get daughters size now shes a toddler and h&m can never go wrong there. John lewis , debenhams and m&s are fab quality too and midpriced.

I find it hard to find clothes to fit her as shes quite chunky and tall 2half in 3-4 or 4-5 clothes, she also wears cloth so i prefer elasticated waistbands, manged to egt some jeans from asda that fit, have real problems with jeans.

Its the feet costing me fortune 8h imposible to find that size in sales!

8h ouch on that width, yeah I can imagine it's diff finding those in the sales. Mind you my dd is teeny weeny and went to get her first pair of shoes and the 3f are almost a bit too big lol but it's the smallest clarkes do, bless her.

I have the Graco excursion so the cheapy model, and I know it't not worth much but I can't bear to freecycle it as it's in such good condition ( I may be being stupid here, but it's how I feel). I put it in the paper, also pre loved. If it doesn't go on ebay I'm just going to put the car seat and base for sale in paper and keep the pushchair for my spare. Shame as I wanted a petite star zia!

You certainly sound like you know your buggys lol

I know its hard to see buggy go for silly price but must say the zias much nicer and reclines unlike the zapp so could be used from birth.
Another good one worth considering is the bay mini jogger in argos book very spacious seat and pushes like a dream.
Im downsizing to 2 my maclaren techno for bus as I dont drive and have recently won a bargain one step nipper 3wheeler so lovley for walking and cosy for winter.
I try to buy wisly and when buying I always consider how well it would sell and how much resale value would be as I get bored and dont keep many for long. When I was on maternity made good money out of buying prams in paper and seling on ebay, bugaboo, quinny, jane, maclaren and mamas and papas all have very good resale value! I hate to buy brand new as dont like the depreciation, would rather good quality 2nd hand pram than buy cheap strollerI make it sound like cars.

It turns out my weird hobby is good as im now sitting on 500 quids worth of prams once sold so its bit like unususual savings scheme.Good luck with selling yours.

As for the shoes is a nightmare as has to be clarks or startright for wide fitting and even then my choice is limited, at the moment she lives in her crocs which reminds me must wash and list her leili kelli shoes on evay as they reach good price.

Im feeling hopeful about carboot sunday as forcast reasonable and got loads of new stuff to take.
As for ebay listing prams first clothes over next few weeks and hopefully have my business set up by end of next week just need to find the time to sell nappes too.
