Ah... I keep mine in the plastic bag in the cupboard which is where I'm probably going wrong then. I'll try find something else to put them in I think.

  • Hi

Hubby is bringing home a big sack of 'washed' potatoes. Im not sure how they should be stored, I know muddy spuds would be ok in the garage but would it be the same for washed spuds? Does anyone know?? :rotfl:

    Hi canidothis,

There's an earlier thread that should help you so I've added your post to it to keep the replies together.

Washed spuds will be okay in your garage, as the temperature there should be okay for them, but as you say they won't keep as long as muddy spuds.

The best place Ive found to keep spuds is an old chest freezer which is in the shed, it no longer works but is great storage for veggies, cold and dark.

Hi, I just bought a sack of potatoes and a net of carrots from our local farm shop. I am going to store them outside on our balcony. Should I bring them in overnight because of the freezing temperatures?

We store our HG potatoes in an outside shed, and they last fine through the winter ;) I'll add this to the existing storing potatoes gthread to keep all ideas together :D

    Hi All

I am really tempted to buy a sack of potatos this month rather than buying small bags in Mr T's.

Can anyone tell me how to keep them from going off / sprouting / going mouldy.

I dont want to fork out for a bag and then end up throwing them away - there are just 2 of us so the bag needs to last about 2 months

Thanks for your help in advance
