Wine glasses made of very thick glass?

I'm searching for thick wine glasses (for our water with dinner:D ).

Its easy to find them with thick bottoms, not so easy thick all over.

I got some in Cargo, they were about £18 for 4 (so £4.50 each), I got 8 & 2 are broken, at least I still have six.

BUT when that magic sixth ones breaks, I'm without a full set, as I don't really want to buy another 4 as they are not as durable as I'd hoped.

I don't put them in the dishwasher, I hand wash them.

DON'T WANT CRYSTAL - I personally find it a bit old fashioned, my mum used to like it:o

So does anyone know of any VERY thick wine glasses that are pretty plain if possible?

Portmeirion every time. I've had mine for ages, they are very robust.

    :(:(:(:(:(:(:( No I haven't

I'm looking for some chocolate brown soft floppy leather (or faux leather) VERY large placemats.

    46cm by 32cm ish (or 18" by 12" ish).

They have some in Debenhams, for £20 each:eek:

I keep hoping they will put them in the sale:rolleyes:

    Funny you should say that.

Pub gardens are where most of my "wine" glasses came from..

Thank you, but they must be stemmed & fairy plain.

But I wonder how thick these are?

These are fairly thick - about 3mm I reckon. I've just put one of my bee ones next to a highball glass (Ikea or Habitat) and it's thicker and more substantial. That's one reason why we stopped using convential wine glasses, the stems are too thin and are not stable enough for anything other than a formal dinner party!
