all great - keep them coming! Does anyone have something that can be done in under 15mins that doesn't involve a microwave or pasta?0

Beans on toast, either with cheese or fried egg
Omelette
Stir fry is pretty quick. Stir fry some veg and mix with noodles and sauce. 10 mins max (including boiling the kettle and finding a clean fork)
8p supernoodles only take 2 mins to cook. Mix with some cheese. I like these in a sandwich :eek:0 -
Cheesy champ and beans.
Peel and cut spuds up into small cubes. Boil til soft. Doesn't take long if small chunks. Heat some beans. Once spuds cooked, drain, mash, S&P, milk to make nice and soft. Pile into bowls like wee mountains, well in the top and pop in a wee knob of butter. Drizzle baked beans over so it looks like an orange volcano. Enjoy. The ultimate comfort food which takes 10 mins. Warning.... very filling so don't make massive quantities.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

That would never have crossed my mind to make, but seems strangely appealing. I am definitely going to do this for my dd1 when she comes in from school. She will looooove it! Thanks!

Carbonara is my quickest meal but if you dont want pasta it would need be something with eggs - scrambled, poached, boiled etc
Or you could always throw some chicken or tuna fillets in a George Foreman grill and have with a salad that should take less than 15 minsQue Sera, Sera0 -
I'm looking for some inspiration for meals which can be prepared quickly and easily (ideally in 15 minutes or less) to feed newly pregnant mum, dad who works long hours, kids aged 11, 10 and 2.
We aren't veggies, like most things I think and own a slow cooker and a microwave. Just feeling quite knackered at the moment and lacking in enthusiasm to cook, so some new ideas would be helpful to plan my shopping list tonight. Also constantly starving, so something filling would be good!
Thank you0 -
I find making a big casserole or pan of soup then warming it up as needed helps. soup and sandwiches is nice. you can also make pasta sauces like this then just boil the pasta and add some previously made sauce.0

Mince with new potatoes and loads of veg (took me about 5 minutes to throw everything in a pan tonight!)
spag bol
tuna pasta bake
Mac cheese.. with added bacon or ham if you fancy
pizza.. you get the stuff and everyone decorates their own!
sausage casserole
corned dog hash.. SC fave of mine..
salads.. with cold chicken or gammon or other meat (usually cooked while doing dinner the day before)
I also just throw a lump of meat in the SC about lunch time when I am awake.. and do veg or salad or potatoes or rice with it.
if I want mash I usually get OH to peel spuds the day before and keep them in water overnight so they jut need cooking which I have the pressure cooker for.
I think we have had pasta maybe 3 or 4 times a week while I have been pregnant, I just cant stand long enough to cook a fancy meal.. roast dinners are out unless someone else does it.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I know this isn't very MSE, but have you thought about using more conveniece food, like the veg you get in those bags, that have already been chopped and washed and the mash potatoes that you just need to pop in the mircowave.
How about using frozen veg if you don't - minimal effort but still counts towards your five-a-day. I've recentl discovered frozen sweet peppers, which are fab, as they are so easy to throw into a saucepan.0 -
Chicken wraps with sweet chill sauce.
Just throw chopped peppers onion & chicken in a wok . Heat the wraps and top with chilli & mayo.
Bacon eggs & new potatoes with mint sauce.
Baked potato cheese & beans . ( microwave the potatoes until soft the night before then place in a hot oven to crisp the next day )
Chicken breast stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon serve with salad .
Pasta with any sauce of your choice garlic bread & salad.
Congrats on the pregnancy .:j0
